They are very exited when " Gend have me lahriye".

The can literally see the ball "lahriying" when military medium bowlers are bowling

Even MSK Prasad's tenure was lacklusture. He was hell bent on pushing Bhuvi over Shami/Umesh in ODIs. CT 2017 & ODI WC 2019, was pushing weak VJ Shankar for allrounder position. :cantstop:

Chota Chetan is a chameleon, on mic he will talk loudly about fast bowlers...off mic he despises them favouring trundlers. Dravid took most of the heat and this guy smartly escaped all the criticism.

Think Shankar was there because they wanted a back-up for Pandaya, its still the case. Anyone able to hold bat and bowl bit of seam-up is projected as back-up to pandaya.

In reality there is none.

Kolhi did nt get how to create a proper batting line-up till 6/7/8 slots. but he got the bowling right.  They were planning to phase-out shami from white-ball and keep him to red-ball to get longevity. And Umesh was never a good white-ball bowler.

The issue with that management was trying to create low potential copies of existing players with like for like model. The model is inherently a down-grade model as they were creating bad copies of the players and not like they had players of say Murli/Warne level that even the like for like replacements will be better than what other teams will be no match to replacements.

Agree about Pandya's backup. But VJ Shankar was a powerless striker...he had zero strength and even his bat speed is nothing worth mentioning. Bowling wise he was barely at Ganguly or Robin Singh's level. Proper definition of bits and pieces, even Stuart Binny had more upside than him.

Kohli and Shastri were obsessed with Bhuvi at 8...they felt that Bhuvi is some mythical allrounder who can play like Shaun Pollock for them. They kept on ignoring how poor Bhuvi was in ODIs and how good Shami was.

Even Umesh improved massively in ODis and was a genuine threat with the new ball...he jumped from 31 wkts in 30 matches to 106 wkts in 75 matches...that's a great improvement...him and Shami were the stars of 2015 ODI WC campaign. Yet Kohli Shastri couldn't look beyond Bhuvi (maybe Dhoni too must have had his influence on their decisioning).

Deepak Chahar was an ideal replacement for Bhuvi but that bozo never kept himself fit. Had he remained fit, we need not had to tolerate Bhuvi for so long.

Irfan would be a terrible choice. He is a yes man of the management. Give him a role, and look at him wagging his tail.

Even with full fitness chahar was not a good bowler outside pp, thats where these like for like are downgrades as bhuvi himslef was v.skillful but then he too was not at that level where he can win games on his own.

Shankar was seen as pandya's replacement back in those days as it till now with any one who can bat a bit and bowl a bit.

Issue with bhuvi batting or perception of his batting come down to the reason that other bowlers can not hold the bat , again goes to the issue kolhi does nt unserstand how to create a batting line-up

Bhuvi’s problem was not skill...it was in his mind.

A couple of boundaries and he will start bowling like a scared chicken...to save its economy. Thats where the problems begin...he isnt a good death bowler, so if he is wicketless in pp, its a sure shot catastrophy in death overs.

Even in IPL, when you give him respect, he will be all over you. Few brave strokes against him in pp and then he will go defensive to protect himself.

DC had lower skills with the ball, but he stuck to that, coz he knew he didnt had an any alternative and neither he is good in death. His real value was with bat though, he was genuinely powerful hitter and could have played a better role than Shardul while offering more with the new ball.

PK was dropped coz he was becoming a "bad boy".

Fighting with umpires, beating and threatening other players. BCCI didnt like that, he was becoming the "gunda". Should have controlled his temper.

Bhuvi bhaiya was the "good boy"...quiet, modest, soft spoken and everyone started to like him. Cricket aside, he is a good guy in real life as well and has helped many folks.

PK's off field persona dominated over his on field skills.

Do not think it was mid set, its natural limitations. he is cream de la cream of LA/RA nothing kind of bowlers. He has all the skill but unless someone is tall or has extra pace their shelf-life in intnl crkt is not that long. Batters knows how to counter skill when there is not much pace.

Thats why when-ever selecting any LA/RA nothing type of bowler they should see if that bowler is any better than bhuvi if not than they will not have much success.

Bhuvi neither had pace or high release , he increased pace and became really good but then because he was not naturally fast he use to get injured.

Been watching a bit of Shami. He is still fine. Bowling decent pace, not his fastest. He does look a few kg's extra certainly. But doesnt look out of sorts.
