If people like Pollock or Schumi are struggling with medical bills what chance the common man have? If he hasnt been part of IPL so far he will actually do well to grab a job at this age.

Not Schumi. He is one of the richest sportspersons in the history of sports.

I would be very upset if Srini Mama or BCCI did anything to help him. I have nothing against Greame Pollock, but I can name at least 200 Indian cricketers who slogged their balls off in the past in First Class Cricket and even Test Cricket and are having to work 8 to 5 everyday to make a living, not comfortably, but just to feed their families and have a roof on their head. Take care of them first. Charity Must Begin at Home !

Thats because she expects him never to fly in that jet again :( He has been ranked the 2nd wealthiest sportsperson of all time with a total income of $800 million (Michael Jordan is first with over a billion dollars).

its my opinion. Or is me expressing my opinion a crime as well? The truth is we dont know if Greame Pollock pissed all his wealth away making some stupid business choices. The thing is I see Greame Pollock exactly for what he is. Somebody who changes his tune as per his needs.... The entire IPL statement to me atleast made it clear. I can post countless examples of him writing in the south african press of how evil India was. This existed right back in the 90s as well. He is cut of the same cloth of Neil Manthorp. His writings in business daily (BD) and his writings in Wisden India are poles apart. Playing to the audience that reads them.

and keep in mind if you do a google search on Greame pollock, his stance on all things Indian starts to shift dramatically in the later half of 2013. I think thats when his financial troubles started to mount and he saw India as being his savior.

Yeah India has a lot of their own legends to worry about...Not at the test level but some of the Ranji level players who might be in some kind of financial strife. But TBF ICC needs to help some of these former players out. Now since ICC=BCCI or Sreeni Mama,not the time to hold personal grudges

All i am saying is there are people like Jarrod Kimber who are critical of India. But they praise India when we do something right. I dont mind those people at all. Its turncoats and people who type only negative things i cant stand. The truth is some of the most vicious attacks on India in the 90s came from south africans. Maybe they held us responsible for isolation or not i dont know. I remember the British press giving these guys (Mnthorp (just started out) Pollock, Procter etc) enough column inches to spew their bile. Back then it was topics such as "why are India making spinning pitches at home" etc etc. Thats one place Tony Grieg stood out. He did not give a **** about what happened and followed the money.

Pollock has been diagnosed with Parkinson's disease and a colon cancer. Adding to his suffering, he also suffered a stroke recently that has forced him to remain at home. I would hope that petty things like his views about IPL/DRS would not come in the way of any help being given to him by BCCI/ICC or by anyone else.

Its not the BCCI's job to waste money on a foreign cricketer. Simple as that. If the ICC wants to help out then its their call. I am just making people aware of what a duplicitous character he really is. I do sympathize with his condition.. I wish that on nobody. However pardon me for being a cynic when he puts his hand out to a country he has always slagged off. Its not just the IPL. In the 90s he penned a column saying that poor sanitary conditions was the only reason western teams did not win in India.

Yup -- the guys who played 25 Tests or Less are getting a whopping 25000 Rupees. And Ranji Players, who are my bigger concern am not sure what are they getting.

Neither BCCI nor Indian cricket has or had done any crime or robbed people off. Think like this, if a person who abused you started tirades against you like you are the biggest evil in the world and then a few days later, he comes to you for help, will you do. Most people wont. He will be kicked on the backside. This is how this world works.

Ironically when the IPL came out he said it was a threat to international cricket. Now he wants a job in the IPL..... tells you a lot about his guts. Whats Shaun Pollock doing in all this? Maybe Pollock needs to look to England for help. After all his views in the 90s found home in the british media. The truth is Pollock made a business boo boo

He has incurred losses of $250,000 from his brokerage business and is in serious danger of having his home taken away from him because of his incapability to pay the loans.
