You don't extrapolate those performances and use it for the rest of his career. If we use that yardstick Ishant sharma should have been dropped ages ago. He sucked even in helpful condtions in 2011. why cant we use the same yardstick with Jadeja then ? in a shorter career hes shown much better results , yeah not great but even some of our great spinners sucked in their first few years let alone first tests . Am no saying discard Ashwin , I tink he will improve ..but is he a must in the playing11 , I think not .

vishalvirsingh Posted July 30, 2014 Posted July 30, 2014 Ishan't varun and bhuvi as fast bowlers. Jaddu as spinner. Batting unit -no change. Pankaj has been unlucky in this test but still something is Wrong in his bowling..He is beating the bat not getting wickets kinda what Ishan't was always.

Pankaj is known to be a workhorse and yet, he was the pacer who looked tired after a couple of spells.

Why do you need so many batsmen? why cos you dont like Rohit sharma ? There are people who rate him higly even in this forum . Our batting is not that good on falt wickets , not one batsmen has shown ability to score big like the dravids & Tendulkars . Untill the likes of Virat , Pujara and Rahane start scoring big hundreds , there is no way we can go with 5 batsmen , we will always be batted out on such picthes .

Batsmen get genuine support from lower order. Do bowlers get support from batsmen in a meaningful way? All they do is dropping the catches.

Binny saved the first test. We never needed 6th batsman even in the greenest track . Why do you need 6th batsman on the flattest track. Because of that they racked up huge total and we are struggling to save the test even with 6 specialist batsmen.

So we needed big changes, i.e. a new captain, new bowlers and a new WK (DK, this was before his horrendous asia cup keeping). Now i see saha as a better replacement since his keeping is pretty good and he bats well.. see how context and thus team changes? 4 bowlers was ok at the time as the seamers took wickets but couldnt finish it off.. they lost gas. Hence i have believed even more now that bhuvi has scored runs, that 5 bowlers is better. A spinner and 4 seamers overseas is the perfect combo. See the score now? Ashwin.. can bat. He is solid, someone we could always rely on in batting. Bowling wise, he wants to attack. That is perfect for an attacking captain, someone i suspect would be pujara or kohli. Thats why i want dhoni gone. Dhoni out, kohli/pujara or even GG as captain would be better and ashwin would be more useful IMO. Funny how you snoop around but never reply to my responses.. hmm see the context and then speak. Its like blasting someone for saying that yuvraj should be discarded after the t20 2014 final just because he said yuvraj should play after his wc 2011 heroics - context changes everything. All those players whom you are hailing as saviours right now , you will want them sacked after 3-4 failures and will be calling them useless, piece of sh*t, pathetic. That precisely has been the intent of digging out those posts and show you what you have said during our last test series, not in 2011 or 2012. And all that talk of context is a mere excuse. You (and a few others on this forum) are here just for one thing, that is to abuse the players, the targets keeps changing from time to time. I will keep pointing out those hypocrisies till the time I am around.

And people who have been around for longer will also be targeted Since Rohit inclusion and Ashwin's exclusion were pointed out before the test, many do stand vindicated on the topic In the end, all of these stems from the captain. His choices, his failures. That's all what it boils down to. You are free to sing praises of him and the players even when we keep on losing consistently, but others might differ
