Abolish haj subsidy in 10 years: Supreme Court to government The Supreme Court on Tuesday directed the Union government to gradually reduce and abolish haj subsidy in 10 years and invest the amount — averaging over Rs 650 crore a year for last five years — in education and other measures for social development of the minority community. "We direct the Central government to progressively reduce the amount of subsidy so as to completely eliminate it within a period of 10 years from today," said a bench of Justices Aftab Alam and Ranjana P Desai in an order that reflected a resolve which successive governments had failed to muster in the last 60 years. http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/india/Abolish-haj-subsidy-in-10-years-Supreme-Court-to-government/articleshow/13059420.cms

Throw the anti-Indian congress out of the country. Who cares what they say? Also, it would be good if Govt takes over the biggest illegal land theives in the name of churches all over the country.

It pains me to see my countrymen being supportive of their tax money to go to religious endeavors of foreigners rather than of their countrymen.
Except that is not the case. If the PM of India is on a state visit to a foreign nation and deciedes to visit a site- religious/cultural/whatever in his/her personal capacity, that is NOT supporting the religious/cultural site of the foreign country on our tax money.

Religious organizations of the majority in foreign countries are being state supported' date=' while there are talks of making pilgrimage more difficult for the minorities.[/quote'] Err no, it is not state supported, that is complete fabrication from your part. State support indicates support of material or ideological means from the office of the PM. No such thing has occured.

What shows is that you conveniently missed mentioning that part.
Is this thread about me. The point I mentioned you were not even acknowledging it.

Huh? You posted a fact - I didn't contest it. If you post half side of the story, you will be pointed out.

Holy feck! Just checked the price of sandalwood. 2,500 kg costs around 15 crore rupees! Were these donated from my tax money to a foreign religious institution or did Bal Narendra chop them down on his own?

Before people spin kulcha out from this. Revealed: Government to bear cost of Modi's sandalwood and ghee gifts to Nepal temple http://www.rediff.com/news/report/government-to-bear-cost-of-sandalwood-and-ghee-to-nepal-temple/20140806.htm

Apart from these, during a visit to the famous Pashupatinath temple in Kathmandu on Sunday, Modi also offered 2,500 kilogrammes of sandalwood and 2,400 kg of ghee to the shrine. White sandalwood, according to the Web site of the Cauvery Handicrafts Emporium, a Karnataka government enterprise, costs Rs 16,000 a kg. So Modi's gesture of offering 2,500 kg of the precious wood, comes to around Rs 4 crore (Rs 40 million). At Rs 390 a kg, the value of ghee offered to the temple works out to Rs 936,000. The cost of sandalwood and ghee thus works out to around Rs 4.09 crores (Rs 40.9 million)

Manmohan Singh had given Bangladesh a $1 Billion credit line. Manmohan Singh had also given $5 million to pakistan, $20 million to Palestine and $200K to a Buddhist shrine in Myanmar. You have finally woken up to the enormous wasteful use of your tax payer money. Subhan-allah !
