What exactly is that obese clown's contribution to our cricket team??? The team has regressed in every discipline under his watch whether its batting, bowling or fielding and whether its in the shorter forms or proper, test match cricket. And all he does is keep smiling and collecting his fat check. Doesnt even need to explain himself. Barely attends press conferences either. It cannot be a coincidence that ever since he came our overseas record has gone to the dogs. Lost 5-0 in his last test series for England as well. Guy is past is. Never rated him tbh. All his England glory days were due to the fact that they had a supremely talented team. And even then Eng were never a dominant side. Overrated piece of ****! SACK HIM NOW

Whats the logic behind BCCI giving a guy from Zimbabwe a ton of money? At least hire a McGrath Warne or someone with a history of winning if you want a foreigner. Zimbabwe is not what I think of when you ask me to name a cricketing powerhouse. I dont care about theiir "moment" in the mid 90s either. Fire him imbeciles!

It is very clear that Dhoni is the final authority and even the best ideas of the coach can easily be over ruled if captain kewl doesn't like it. It was Dhoni's stubbornness to go with a leg slip and only after repeated intervention from the dressing room did he finally change it. I have no idea how finding a scapegoat in the coach can fix things

More then that how come our analysts are so crappy. After two matches theirs knew eveything about our every player. They knew about pujara's weakness, kohli's weakness. They started playing BK much better. Dhawan, GG were destroyed. Jaddu was ineffective. While moeen bhai annihilated us. Anderson wrecked us. Ballance & root made our mediocre attack seem like a bunch of bedwetting toddlers. Their slip cordon was impeccablely placed & ours couldn't figure out where we should stand. Where was the inputs you shyte holes

Fletcher is supposedly an excellent batting coach, is he leaking the weakness of Indian batsmen to opposition coaches and players, especially to the likes of English and SA ? :hmmm: , //conspiracy theory//

In the age of IPL, Indian cricket needs a coach that is more powerful than the captain. Something like Ganguly as coach, and Pujara or Ashwin as captain.

Something like Ganguly as coach, and Pujara or Ashwin as captain.[/quote'] One reason Greg C was sacked was intensive training sessions and commenting about some players (Zak in particular) for not giving enough in training sessions. The problem is that the administrators and selectors do not want a coach or captain who has more say, so that they can run the cricket system the way the want. Even the next captain would probably have to bow to the administrators/selectors, otherwise they might not even get the job or get dropped after one or two series are lost.

our management unit failed miserably. as for batting failure, I strongly feel something wrong happened after lords which drained the players mentally. whole coaching unit + captain needs to be replaced. what is joe dawes doing? what is trevor penney doing? we can't continue with these useless guys just for the sake of continuity for worldcup.

Former chief selector Krishnamachari Srikkanth wondered what India coach Duncan Fletcher had been doing. "Some of the strategies adopted, field placements and even the batting order for instance could have been handled better," Srikkanth wrote in a column in The Times of India. "The coach definitely has a say in all these. Either he is not ready to question the authority of Dhoni, else he wants to collect his pay check till the World Cup before waving goodbye."

Former Indian skipper Dilip Vengsarkar lashed out at coach Duncan Fletcher’s contribution to the Indian team and also criticised MS Dhoni’s captaincy. India went down to another humiliating defeat in the fifth and final Test at The Oval to lose the series 1-3. “Dhoni led the team poorly. His selection policy, strategy, field placing and bowling changes lacked common sense. He made some glaring mistakes match after match for which India paid heavily. Unfortunately for him and India, he had Duncan Fletcher as the coach who, it seems, is devoid of any ideas and has no clue as to how to turn things around. He, it seems, hardly motivated the young team. “In fact the support staff and the think tank really let down the team very badly. I hope the BCCI sacks them immediately unless they go once again by what the senior players in the team feel about them,” said a furious Vengsarkar. http://www.cricketcountry.com/news/ms-dhoni-lacked-common-sense-duncan-fletcher-has-no-clue-how-to-get-india-back-on-track-dilip-vengsarkar-173808
