There is kedar jadhav,karun nair,manoj tiwari who can outperform these 2 but they wont get chance,same out of form players would play and we lose,jadhav proved in any format,even in australia,he did well

Pujara is India's best Test batsman. No one comes close IMHO. I stand by him and I have full confidence he will be back.

Virat's FC average is 50 plus. 47 you mentioned also included tests.

Against England in the recently concluded Tests though, the stalwarts of young India were a pale shadow of their formidable repute. Such was their shoddy showing that former England captain Geoffrey Boycott questioned their comparisons with legends Sachin Tendulkar and Rahul Dravid. While the entire Indian batting lineup fumbled as the tourists lost the five-match series 1-3, Boycott felt Kohli and Pujara were particularly guilty. "We were led to believe that these two would take the places vacated by Sachin Tendulkar and Rahul Dravid, respectively, and those are some pretty big shoes to fill," he wrote in his column for gocricket.com. "That is why we have been amazed at the way their form seems to have completely abandoned them. Consider this sequence of scores from the two stars: Pujara has scored 28, 43, 24, 2, 0, 17, 4 and 11. Kohli has 1, 8, 25, 0, 39, 28, 0, 7, 6 and 20." More inconsistent than average. At times he has been superb and at his best he looks like he is one of the best players of the generation. A lot of top players, including Kallis have had to struggle for several years before they became consistent scorers. Even Ponting was considered very talented but wasn't scoring heavily in the 90s. Sachin and Dravid shoes are too big to fill and we may not see that happening for decades to come.
