TheWall Posted September 4, 2014 Posted September 4, 2014 Sir Botham getting facts right since time immemorial I think BCCI pays the respective boards 10% of the players fee...so beefy is wrong again. He better get back to his marijuana soon...
sandeep Posted September 4, 2014 Posted September 4, 2014 Ah sour grapes. Since lou vincent, Danish kaneria tried to fix county cricket, that should be banned also. Cant have this corruption messing up the great game, you see. Let the ignorant yob has-been spout nonsense, it just shows how sad pommie cricket is.
Deleted_User_1 Posted September 4, 2014 Posted September 4, 2014 That's exactly what is happening. Market forces determining pay packets according to "perceived" and "demonstrated" abilities. Much better than a situation where Tendulkar and Rohit Sharma gets paid the same match fee' date=' isn't it?[/quote'] BS, Yuvi in his current form gets the highest bid in last IPL.... :hysterical::hysterical::hysterical: Free market is not really free....
Deleted_User_1 Posted September 4, 2014 Posted September 4, 2014 That was Viv and I have seen him hit sixes at feroze shah kotla. Now Indians are hitting those sixes and I am happy. As far as Kim is concerned quit watching that ****. Let the free market decides which cricketers make money. Dont be so jealous but feel happy from them There was a time when Bedi mentioned Indian cricket players had no money for breakfast in away tour and all they would eat is the cookies served in the morning. Wadekar wore torn shoes for cricket and Sobers wanted to give it to him for free. I am happy for them. Botham can take a hike. I do not watch Kim K. Also regarding free market watching too much faux snooze? You know we do not have true free market, don't you?
King Tendulkar Posted September 4, 2014 Posted September 4, 2014 Botham talking a lot of hogwash. IPL is not destroying world cricket at all. World cricket thriving. Its destroying indian national team, that's all its doing. As nexus of evil using indian team for csk/ipl reasons, corruption is used to wreck our national team.. Not sure why botham upset that IPL making indian test team pathetic!

gattaca Posted September 4, 2014 Posted September 4, 2014 I dont understand why English media and pundits always call on IPL what about BPL. If they are against IPL they should be against BPL as well. This shows their racisim . unless someone enlightens me how they are different. To calrify this is not whataboutism but I am asking about the hypocrisy in their thinking.

How much doe it pay to the player's respective boards ?
King Tendulkar Posted September 4, 2014 Posted September 4, 2014 Pre IPL Era - 1 world title in 45 years Post IPL Era - 3 world titles in 7 years Just saying :two_thumbs_up: 3 world titles. Only remember us winning 2? Plus its the effect its had on test team. Plus the horrendous corruption and weird power games/corruption its brought in regards to the Indian teams selction and captaincy etc etc
King Tendulkar Posted September 4, 2014 Posted September 4, 2014 Its ironic that he doesn't speak a word about english t20 leagues where a lot of aussie ' date=' paki players pla. How much doe it pay to the player's respective boards ?[/quote'] That is true Plus they are always harping on about making eng t20 better to compete with IPL, they always saying copy this etc etc. So on one hand hate IPL but on other hand want own league to be better and more powerful:hysterical: Similar to dhoni lunatics. On one hand slam tests but on other hand desperate for him to do well in and try and use it to promote him as ATG:haha:
Crookbond Posted September 4, 2014 Posted September 4, 2014 3 world titles. Only remember us winning 2? Plus its the effect its had on test team. Plus the horrendous corruption and weird power games/corruption its brought in regards to the Indian teams selction and captaincy etc etc He's also counting the ICC Champions Trophy.
someone Posted September 4, 2014 Posted September 4, 2014 Anytime a Englishman calls IPL to be scrapped, we should call for EPL to be scrapped. England football team are doing poor, so what's the use of EPL? It's just another englishman being jealous. IPL is a Indian product and really all of us, should be proud of it.
Zap_Brannigan Posted September 4, 2014 Posted September 4, 2014 So essentially since the market and the players are moving towards T20's, in order for test cricket to survive, he suggests to stop giving people what they want and shove test cricket on everyone's throat. Corruption - There was bigger corruption in the international scence before IPL even began. The biggest corruption in the last decade happened in test cricket participated by test players and test captain. So lets abolish test cricket, then English county and then IPL, in that order. IPL slot- Thats funny. IPL never asked for an official window. Most of the boards have the window due to pressure from its players. Does he expect the players to be under slave contracts? More cricket = More avenues to fix. So lets just ban cricket altogether. Idiotic, hypocritical and illogical views from botham.
Cricket_Hacker Posted September 4, 2014 Posted September 4, 2014 Pre IPL Era - 1 world title in 45 years Post IPL Era - 3 world titles in 7 years Just saying :two_thumbs_up: wasnt the 2007 WC pre-IPL?
putrevus Posted September 4, 2014 Posted September 4, 2014 what a load of crap , People need to stop using IPL as reason for Indian team performances in test cricket. Kohli and Pujara had their first major failures it happens, Pujara never played IPL much so why did he fail , this notion that IPL is destroying Indian cricket is just hog wash. IPL is boon for Indian cricket, cricketers can earn money without playing international cricket which is always good as it encourages more kids to the sports without parents worrying about their futures. Botham is the biggest moron who cannot see the dirty things in his own back yard which is county cricket.

Pakistan is now ranked right up our **** , that's how pathetic things are. Anyway you hate tests, of course that will change if dhoni can do something in them

You now ask how? Let me give you the most clear example, our captain is only not being sacked as it will effect an IPL team owned by the president of BCCI!!
YCCC Posted September 4, 2014 Posted September 4, 2014 SSShhh. I'm going to let you into a little secret now, but don't tell anyone or I may be banned from every cricket ground in England for admitting to this most heinous of crimes. I sometimes watch the IPL. And I enjoy it. It's 'different'. I enjoy it in the same way I enjoy watching Spanish, German or Italian football. No attachment to any team, but I like the glamour of it and find it entertaining. There. I said it. Now if this is my last post, I will have been taken by the ECB secret police to the death camp in the heart of the Lord's pavilion, awaiting sentence along with others who displayed any form of sympathy towards any aspect of Indian cricket# However. I would not want it top be copied here. It is unique to India and it works because it fits in with modern Indian life and culture perfectly
