oops my bad. I posted the SR by mistake. He avged 29.71 but the thing is its just SA so its an anomaly. The 3 countries which have seaming, swingiing conditions sehwag failed in all 3

No. Ball bounces an d the pitches are fast in Aus. Only is Sydney the ball moves if theres a cloud cover which is rare. Fast, bouncy wickets were perfect for Sehwag

Yes, but certainly not as much in Eng, SA, NZ. Aussie pitches are more known for exaggerated bounce than excessive lateral movement.

There will always be swing with the new ball, dude. If there is grass, there will be seam movement too. Aussie pitches are not just fast and bouncy. For tests, there will be lateral movement available.

As far as tests goes' date=' he only faced McGrath in one series - the series Australia won in India in 2004. And he was one of the few Indian batsmen to have [i']any sort of success in that series (namely the brutal 155 in the first innings in Chennai, when the last day was washed out). Can you believe McGrath only played 11 tests against India? The one-off test on the dodgy pitch in Delhi in 1996, the 1999/2000 series in Australia (3 tests), and the 2001 (3 tests) and 2004 (4 tests) series in India.

He played him in Australia for world XI in 2005. Played him quite well made 75 odd in the first innings afaik.

So that I understand you correctly, you saying since Sehwag played in docile Indian tracks his average is inflated? Then can I ask why Gilchrist average only 28.50 in INDIA? a) Still you think scoring runs in India is easy? b) Or now you think Adam is no longer an ATG? c) Or I am confused here? :winky:
