No where near the world's top accents. There are languages which you don't know yet can listen only for the sound. None of the ones you mention do that for me though I know most of them and have people around me who speak the rest. In fact Telugu for some reason irritates me

This is true, but the accent is the core part, it remains no matter what language you speak. In fact speaking a foreign language makes you focus more on the accent than on the word. And I don't think any Indian language is anywhere near as beautiful sounding as some of the ones mentioned in OP. Not near the bottom maybe, but definitely not near the top

But I cannot understand those who think that Indians dont sound bad the way they speak X itself. You have some identity issues if you think like that.

vvvslaxman Posted September 21, 2014 Author Posted September 21, 2014 Nah not just the Telugu part but in general...I think it is the Posers or people who put on fake accents make it worse....take someone like Freida Pinto or Salman khan speak English,it is embarassing. at the same time,you hear say for eg;likes of indira Nooyi,Satya Nadella or any other person who is at a pretty significant position,the accent is not that deplorable. My favorite English accent by an indian is vijay amritaraj. Patudi was okay too.
