The drastic step was taken after doctors tried to slow Jason Garnett's blood flow by injecting his penis 24 times. However, when that didn't work, they had to resort to draining the blood from his penis to make the 23-year-old's erection subside. Garnett woke up on Friday with a morning woody after sleeping with a friend the previous night. Before being taken to the hospital, Garnett tried various things including jogging and an ice bath to reduce the swelling. In an interview later, Garnett said, that ending up in hospital with a permanent erection was probably the most embarrassing day of his life. He further said that seeing them, the doctors, stab his penis with a needle was a horrible experience. He compared it to a horror film and said that the pain was 10 out of 10. Lastly, he said, his penis was now "a bit black and blue" after the ordeal.
