randomGuy Posted November 1, 2014 Posted November 1, 2014 There's a lot of 'us against them' feeling in Muslims n hindus right now. When we will teach in 9th 10th class history books how vast majority of Muslims in the subcontinent became Muslims, it will reduce the animosity greatly. (Many Muslims will also be prompted to reconvert to hinduism , after all all it takes is to use a generic Hindu surname like a Kumar or a singh]
hhunaeh Posted November 1, 2014 Posted November 1, 2014 Since when was reducing animosity ever the aim of rss and co? How will they make electoral capital if they help build bridges?
sticky wicket Posted November 1, 2014 Posted November 1, 2014 Hindu inferiority complex on full display by RSS. If likes of RSS and their backers continue feeling wronged by Islamic and British rule then they will never move forward, they should reconcile with past and accept what it was and look to the future rather continuously looking back overhead.

Texan Posted November 1, 2014 Posted November 1, 2014 History is written by winners. And the current version of history taught in India is written by the winner of the first few national elections - the Congress party. I think that there is too much emphasis on the Congress party and too much credit is given to them for India's independence. There were other contributors to India's independence that do not get sufficient credit. Even within the Congress Party, only certain individuals have been glorified (Gandhi, Nehru) and contributions of other national heroes significantly toned down. Also, I feel that there is too much emphasis on just the independence movement. I think that was 90% of the history lessons we had from 8 - 10th. We have no clue about World history (barring the World Wars). We seriously need to introspect on how much of the curriculum should be devolved to World history as against just concentrating on the freedom struggle.
gslv Posted November 1, 2014 Posted November 1, 2014 Even Gandhi ji's involvement in khilafat movement which was idiotic to say the least was taught. I do not understand the need of appeasing musl. They want khilafat let them go to turkey and demand there. What was the need of that in India. Mustafa Kemal was ruthless in spiking the heads of mullahs in turkey and he was right too. Mullahs spread only ignorance and hatred. Those ppl should be banished if they give a speech on anything other than religion. Kick their behind.
