Virat Kohli is more approachable as captain than MS Dhoni for the youngsters in the team, according to fast-bowler, Umesh Yadav. Speaking to starsports.com, Umesh Yadav said despite MS Dhoni advocating an open culture within the team, the team found Virat Kohli friendlier because he "belonged to the same age-group as the rest of the team". Dhoni, 33, is the senior-most member of the Indian team now. He made his debut in 2005, when the likes of Kohli, Yadav, Cheteshwar Pujara and Ajinkya Rahane were still in their teens. Kohli, 26, is set to captain India for the first time in a Test in Brisbane and the team can already sense his positive vibe. "It's definitely a different atmosphere under Virat. He's like one of the guys. Being of the same age group helps and talking to him, discussing your problems becomes really easy," Umesh said. "Don't get me wrong. Dhoni bhai also keeps a very open channel for dialogue, but since he is such a senior player we are always a bit reserved around him. With Kohli it seems 'chilled out'. You can be frank about stuff," opined the pacer. The hallmarks of Kohli's captaincy in the limited overs format have been his aggression and a willingness to play positive cricket. These qualities rubbed-off on the entire team in the recently concluded One-Day International (ODI) series against Sri Lanka. And now, Kohli has also made the right noises ahead of the gruelling summer, asserting that the team would continue to play a positive brand of cricket even against the challenges posed by Mitchell Johnson and Co. "He is an aggressive player and it does change you. You try and emulate the way your captain plays and that's why you have seen a rise in aggression in our playing style. It's a positive atmosphere and that is what you want when facing a team like Australia," added Yadav. However, Yadav also remained cautious against getting carried away. "I'm not looking to bowl super-fast - I know people expect me to hit the 150kph mark, something I did the last time I went to Australia. I'll be happy hitting 140 to 145 kph if my bowling line is good and if I don't leak too many runs. I'll be aggressive but not wayward," he said. "It took a while for my mind-set to change. I went back to my coaches and other mentors and worked on my control. Australia is a place where you have to bang it in because you get pace and bounce, but I also want to get my swing under control," he signed off.

May be Umesh is pissed off for being kept out of ODI and Test teams for over a year due to Dhoni's preferences of dibbly-dobbly nbowlers. He might actually be seeing having zero chance of holding down a spot when dhoni returns and therefore has played this high-stake salvo :haha::haha::haha: Now, Dhoni is stumped. If he drops Umesh once he returns, everyone will turn onto him for biased behaviour.
