Thought he was a recommendation candidate Thought he was a Quota Pick Thought he was one of those default CSK Picks Thought he was a IPL slogger Thought he was a Flat Track Bully Thought he was a wife stealer Thought he was usless But jeez...THis guy has stood up against all odds and performed every Fkin where and on every Fkin Pitch and has been consistent,Patient,Fluent and Effective....I am on the bandwagon finally.....The guy doesn't get the hype like some of the other stars but damn he is good...real good. Yep....Also Vijay is one of the guys who has natural flair and skill but the way he has curbed that to stick it out and make it count has made me a bigger fan

Same here. Hated him a couple of years back, thought he was fit only for slogging on phattas against weak bowling attacks. But God has he turned it around ever since the home series against the Aussies where he got 2 150s. Great test temperament, above average technique, the best leaver in world cricket, unlimited patience and bloody determination. The MVP of this team, better than Rahane because he has to bear the brunt of the new ball attack against the opponent team's best bowlers with the hack Dhawan on the other end. In this ordinary batting line up only he and Rahane have impressed thus far in the ultimate format of the game. Hope youngsters in India learn from him and try to emulate him rather than IPL slogstars.

^ Bouncer from MJ on a sustained basis cannot be compared to comedy bouncers by Aaron or Shami. Those two are comedians.

Mitch is different though.He bowls with a slingy action left handed and bowls them at 150 . The sort of angle of attack most batsmen are unaccustomed to . That's why even steyn or Morkel doesn't create this type of fear.With Johnson the fear of injury is very real. Even SA batsmen were running scared in the test series earlier this season.

I've always liked him. If the IPL didn't exist, he would have been awesome for past 6 years. However, was found out by Mitchell johnson....needs to rectify this before gabba.

His problem is in fact his conversion. When things get nervous and edgy, you feel its his time to leave the crease and get out. Yet when he's firm, its like no one can get him out. But its his first AUS tour and MJ is no easy feat to tackle. He made a 50 when india needed, well done! Has a 50 in AUS, in SA (96), in Eng and a 100 in England. Only failure was NZ so well done vijay. Only batsman more consistent is RAHANE who has a 50 in SA (96), a 100 in NZ, a 100 and 50s in England and now a 50 in AUS.
