Pujara as Opener

Why not? Admit it, the only reason many (including me) backed Dhawan is that he is Sehwag-esque. I m not sure we can find anyone soon, as we don't have sehwags and warners waiting in queue. ChePu more or less plays the role as opener facing the new ball as this hack dhawan couldn't last for 10 overs. Pujara opening could ease off a little pressure and I think it suits him more. It also opens up a slot in the middle order without dropping anyone. Mooli and ChePu opening translates to boring the bowlers to death, as ChePu is only slightly better than Mooli on SR. thoughts?

give Rahul a chance....he needs to start at some point. If so, let him do it with a tough tour..... Also, short time (quick fix) positions changes are not good in long time. BTW, Pujara is a wonderful no 3 batsmen. Yeah...right now, he is going thru a lean phase

Stick with Dhawan for the rest of the series. You can't have the turnover of players India has had in the last 3-4 years and expect everything to just transition smoothly. Dhawan has to be given a chance to improve. He's only played 1 Test in Australia, and copped a bad decision in the second innings. Indian fans get too emotional and want to make 50 changes every series. Just pick and stick for the series. At the end of the series, we can re-assess.

pujara made 70+ 1st innings. lets see how he does next test before writing him off. I dont see why people are after pujara when he has performed many times for india. What about dhawan and rohit sharma? open your eyes people

There is another opener that we have for this tour. Lokesh Rahul.. I would give him a chance right away.. Dhawan is a waste I wouldnt want to change Pujara or Kohli's positions since its working..

Let Pujara bat at the position he is most comfortable in. As it is, he has lot of pressure having failed in England and there is no need to put additional pressure on him by pushing him up to open.
