Who cares about ODIs except WC, Champions Trophy? We should preserve his awesomeness for test cricket coz we haven't had anybody like him in tests since Sunny Gavaskar.

Keep Test specialists like MV and ChePu out of ODIs and IPL (latter is important, it is IPL that spoils their Test technique). ODI esp. only WC is not too bad if MV has to be reserve opener, but IPL is certain evil. So, keep them away from that tamasha.

Rohit Sharma would be a big flop, mark my words. You would see that in the tri series. I don't have much faith in Dhawan either. Vijay as a reserve is a must at this point.

He is a pathetic ODI and T20 player... Starts tooo slow and gets out... Why don't we all learn from our mistake.. His typical innings are 12 of 27, 19 of 33, 7 of 21 or sometimes 41 of 79.. Lets not fall for this trap again

IPL ruined him, and he really couldn't switch between playing styles required for different formats.... Totally agree that he shouldn't be tried in T20s again.... But he deserves a look in for the ODIs, given the form he is in... With the WC coming, and happening in similar conditions, I'm sure he will be included as a back up opener for the CB series.

Don't necessarily need master blasters in ODIs in Australia. None of the top 25 team scores and only 2 of the top 65 team scores in ODIs are in Australia. Solidity, rather than flashiness seems to be the key to ODI batting success in Australia. I'd bet that someone like Vijay might be more successful than the Rohit type players in these conditions. (ok, even Bhuvaneshwar Kumar will probably get more runs than Rohit in Aus)

This guy is an automatic selection in the ODI team in Australia. Only a moron would say no to this. In Australia we need someone to hold up one end and he is the perfect weapon to have. We will struggle to compete at the WC, are batsmen get bashed and our bowlers smashed. RIP Indian cricket in Australia.
