Whats with excuse of drop catches?Pankaj had similar luck in England, yet he was labelled as poor trundler coz of his speed? Aaron's problem isnt lack of wickets. Its that hes going at ER you expect in T20,not even ODI.When batsmen are thrashing you consistently, they are gonna mistime sometime anyway. Its not like they couldnt play him
You have not watched both the tests it seems.Anyway aaron role is diff he can be expensive mitch was expensive so was starc there job is to pick wickets. The problem is others are leaking runs at similar rpo.so we cannot afford but its a gamble worth taking.England is diff adorn was easily bowled better and got results there.

He did swung the ball in England' date=' but everything is useless if you are not consistent and fielders dont take their catches. Drop catches isnt his fault. Should have had 5-6, ended up with 2. Doesn't help confidence of an inexperienced bowler.[/quote'] true wickets give confidence and generally bowler bowls better.

exactly they were not treating him as 150 kph bowler at all. :cantstop:

Because he is young. Pankaj wasnt. Pankaj had one drop catch and was never gonna be a long term option. There are not many indian bowlers who can take wickets like he did with Haddin. In Australia, they always score quickly, cant compare it to England. Must be 50-60 of his runs in first innings were through third man, through gali, etc. Yes, he needs to get more consistent, but such bowlers will never be very accurate. They induce mistakes due to pace which you need to take. They didnt and for a young bowler, it is very demoralizing. Then you start trying too hard that leads to loss of control. He was clearly trying too hard. Remember, Umesh last time, he was also thrashed like this in Adelaide and Sydney.

I think both Umesh and Aaorn should be used in slightly short spells. For that to happen they need 5th bowling option. He is not blessed with many skills besides pace. RP Singh swung it big when he arrived at the scene. Zak, Irfan we had plenty of swing bowlers. Current crop lacks that swing option if you count Bhuvi out.

I'm not comparing ER to England.I'm not asking him to be too frugal but 6-7 RPO is unacceptable. It isnt about Australia too.Recently in a FC match,he couldnt do anything on a greentop where even freaking Binny took wickets. He does produce good deliveries like Haddin but not consistent at all and without consistency its useless. Most of the drop catches/wrong decisions were also because batsmen went for their shots and edged, not because they were tough to survive

None of the bowlers from either team have got consistent or appreciable swing in Australia. All these 5 pacers get swing and seam movement when they are on offer. Especially Bhuvi and Umesh. Shami, Umesh and Aaron get reverse swing too. They just need to bowl good areas consistently and not give boundary balls every over.

All captains in the world give more chances to -- genuine quicks , -- genuine spinners of the ball -- pacers who get steep bounce and -- genuine swing bowlers of reasonable pace. Because these types of bowlers are far more likely to become strike bowlers. 98 % of the strike bowlers in the history of test cricket would fall in either of these 4 categories. Aaron is a genuine quick whereas Pankaj has neither extra pace nor steep bounce nor special swing. Bias towards Aaron is bound to be there by the team management, selectors and fans alike.

Even if we have Mcgrath and Malcol Marshall under Dhoni they will become impotent. Need to give Yadav and Aaron a long run and hope Supreme Court jails Dhoni at the earliest.

Aaron is relatively new to the International arena. He needs mentoring and experience as well to become better. We all know, under Tony's captaincy we are bound to loose so why not try and give these type of bowlers more and more experience. With some good amount of experience after 2-3 series like this, we might see a more matured and a dangerous bowler. See with experience everybody is always going to be better know, and if this guy can bowl with that pace then its a plus point too. :--D

You forgot 5th category-pacers who are accurate and don't bowl boundary balls every over. Not 98% but 100% of good bowlers have control. Some are fast and less accurate, others are slower but more accurate, but some basic level of control is always there. You can't survive giving freebies every over. As for Pankaj, hes tall and gets bounce from good length at occasions.Plus he gets outswing around 135k which is reasonable.More importantly,he seems to bowl with control and setup batsmen rather than rely on magic deliveries. I'm not saying drop Aaron now but he can't be given a free pass to bowl like this and blame everything on luck either. He needs to be far more accurate.Yadav is fast too but still is more accurate

Aaron, Shami, and Umesh are bowlers capable of becoming consistent test match bowlers.... Aussies have a first team attack of bowlers all over the age of 30 with plenty of test matches under their belts..... our trio (including lambu it becomes 4) are all aged 27 or less with umesh and shami having played 10 tests and aaron with 5! Let us not be too hard on these guys who were raised bowling on roads in India to suddenly destroy a strong home team. Only person deserving harsh criticism is lambu the leader with freaking 60 tests under his belt and yet bowling like a nets bowler. Our team is just not built to compete overseas in test matches tbh.... Just to compete on away tours we need a good reliable seamer and definitely one spinner like Kumble..... our current attack doesn't have enough experience, skill, or mental strength to go up against teams like Eng, SAF, Aus, and NZ in their home conditions.

Accuracy is obviously very important but that is something which is expected from a genuine quick after he has played 10 to 15 tests without large breaks . Out and out quicks have mostly been inaccurate during the early parts of their careers. Unless you give a bit of extra concession during the early parts of their career, you will never get a high quality genuine quick. Bowling fast is hard work .... much harder than medium pace ....and there are some side effects ... more so initially. Aaron has just played 5 tests so far. Regarding Pankaj ....he does not get steep bounce really, even though he is tall. Sometimes he got looping bounce which is very friendly. His ability to swing is not special like Bhuvi. He needed to have pinpoint accuracy...but he does not have that. Most importantly, he ran out of steam after his first spell. He has looked very average and won't find much support from anyone ...no matter what you say. Forget about us ... the captain, vice captain, team director, coach, selectors ... nobody really wants him.

Bowled warner...given no ball Warner gloves one to keeper..not given out Shaun marsh hits one high in the air...rahane drops it. Smith edges one to slip...kohli drops it. Unlucky aaron :(( and here we are blaming a bowler for his batting :((
+1 but all this does not explain the second innings..

so many f'n dropped catches , umpiring errors. And in the end, Ishant f's up...100 runs given, dhobi f's up 58 runs awarded. and we loose by 4 wickets.. people incharge need some sense..Aaron should be given an other chance.
