Alternately, push Dhawan down to 4 M Vijay's major success in tests was due to his impeccable leaving outside the off stump not worrying about dot balls, getting stuck at one end. That is exactly the opposite of what you need in one dayers. In tests he won't feel the pinch to keep the scoreboard ticking. In one dayer he has to as he could put on non striker as well. He himself will resort to leg side hoicking and get out.

He needs a few knocks to get back to his form and confidence .He will be crucial in the latter stages Also being opener deserves some leeway .He has been our opener last 12-18 months . We need to be patient with him

You wouldn't know until you try him out again... Dhawan is doing shyte anyway What changed? Give me an example how he has turned into a player that is fit for one dayers. He can hold an end. Will that be enough in one dayers? I doubt so. You need someone who can rotate strike freely. We have several players who are woeful in that. Why add one more. Kohli, Dhoni, Raina are the only 3 who are somewhat capable of rotating strike. In 2011 we had Viru, Gambhir, Yuvraj, Sachin all capable of rotating strike in addition to Kohli, Dhoni.

SRT100 Posted January 20, 2015 Posted January 20, 2015 The Indian selectors are disgraceful they dont reward players who play well in overseas conditions. Vijay should have been in the WC squad for a start and I knew Dhawan would fail in Australia because of the bounce. We now have an Indian team where our supposed best players are underperforming and we havent given the experience to other players to step in. India could copycat 2007.

Both Dhawan and Rayadu were chosen due to some decent form in the previous series. But now there is no option. Unless Dhawan gets injured, he will not be replaced.:--D
bharat297 Posted January 26, 2015 Posted January 26, 2015 I think Vijay should have been picked in the squad. India should have gone with Rohit, Vijay, Kohli, Rahane, Raina, Dhoni as the top 6. In Australian conditions because of the extra bounce, you need your top 3-4 to be stroke makers but still have good technique.
