Indian team has been sliding under his captaincy for 3 years and his batting overseas has also been (usually) woeful- it cant be that he just woke up and realized it today.

Captained the side to No.1 in the world. But it is the right decision. Hopefully Indian cricket can move forward under Kohli in style.

kubrickian Posted December 30, 2014 Posted December 30, 2014 Should have stayed as a keeper batsman because he could have done much better without the burden of captaincy. Perhaps he was just not enjoying it and wanted to concentrate only on ODIs.

Think would have retired after the england series itself if not for the horrible form of Kohli

Firstly why would he retire from Tests if that was the case Team has been poor overseas under him for years but there was no alternative so he had to go on.Now Kohli has shown he can do it and Saha too looks decent so he stepped down
