Why Dhoni didn't realized this? he should have built team around fast bowlers then.Some planning needed from Captain as well. If any one can do same job why he dragged till now?
I'm not going to argue over semantics like that. This is international cricket, not gully cricket. IF your good enough you will make it to the top, stay there and keep improving.

What about accountability? we give benefit of doubt to Dhoni due to semantics.

honestly speaking this guy lost respect form me when selectors choose to sack him but srini saved him ..after that each game he captained i felt it was wrong but i will never doubt his commitment he did not want to lose and felt bad i do not buy he does not cares he just was not good at away tests and that is perfectly ok ..

Same old excuse, the captain is only good as his team. Give Dhoni Johnson, Harris and Hazlewood and watch him destroy every team home and away. What is Kohli going to do that is going to be different from Dhoni, will Ishant magically start bowling perfect lengths? Will Shami start swinging the ball? It's not like Dhoni acts and makes decision totally against the beliefs and opinions of others in the team, all he can do is make the best of the resources he has and hope the team can give it their all. This is just going from one scapegoat to another. Nothing is achieved except temporary relief to the critics.
What excuses are you talking about? The only one making excuses here is you. I am stating the fact that anyone who can't do the job needs to be shown the door. There is something called accountability. The new captain will not fix it overnight but the old one has to take responsibility and let someone else try. After watching test cricket for so many years regularly no one needs to tell me how pathetic Dhoni's captaincy was in overseas tests. I have lost count how many times his poor captaincy took India from a position of strength to a losing position in one session. If the team fails under Kohli then he should be replaced too. No one is immune to that. But at least let a new person try. It might or might not work but at least you will have to give it a try. If you try you might fail or succeed but if you don't try you will surely fail.

In no sport, anywhere in the world, the effect decision maker on field, will survive with 14 overwhelming losses to 1 win. May be everyone else other than the great BCCI is fool.

Can't wait till all those people hating on Dhoni make fools of themselves when they see India failing just as usual overseas with Kohli at the helm. The armchair critics on this forum think they have it all figured out with him retired.
At least we would fail while trying to win and not just going for a draw from any and every kind of situation.

Yeah criticizing someone and pointing out that he isn't a good test captain means "hating on him". What does appreciating him mean then, lust for him? :sick:
