SRT100 Posted January 1, 2015 Posted January 1, 2015 With the world cup about 40 days away and a tri series about to start in 2 weeks, should India rest players ahead of the 4th Test? Personally I feel it would be a mistake to have some of the big names play, the series is dead. Smith made sure India would not have decent total to chase so why not repay the compliment by fielding a weaker team and rest the big players. Kohli, Rahane, Shami, Yadav and Ashwin should be given a rest for the 4th match, why put them through the rigors of another test match just a few days away. Given that they all play in the ODI team.

Given that they all play in the ODI team. It would be like conceding defeat before even playing. I'm interested in seeing what Kohli can do as a captain with the team.

moniker Posted January 1, 2015 Posted January 1, 2015 So what if the series has been lost - there is a test match to be won. An away test victory is no mean feat either. The very thought of playing a weakened side for a test seems ridiculous.
