Jadeja has been consistent perfomer for India since 2012.He was golden ball winner at ct2013. If jadeja misses the wc,how much India's chances would be dampened?And who should replace him?

To be honest, he has become a very consistent performer in ODI's in last 2 years. He has become very good finisher. It would be bad to loose a player of his caliber It would be good as it forces DHONI to go with only one spinner on seamer friendly pitches

Accurate left hand economical darter...he is really accurate among the left armers in ODIs and him and Dhoni have worked out the angles and fields based on his bowling....with huge grounds in Aussie land, it would be more difficult to hit him....his arm ball is really good for unsuspecting batsmen. 2. Good late order left handed batsman - he is not a patch on Yuvi but at the position he bats in, he is a decent hitter and will give a left-right combo...I can imagine that he will generally bat with Raina/Dhoni where he will be secondary and the aggressor when batting with tail...he has done it a lot recently ( for India and CSK) and there is a comfort factor that will be disturbed... 3. Electric fielder - Arguably along with Raina, he is the best fielder within the circle in Indian squad...can count on him for one or two massive game changing runouts...brilliant off his own bowling too...Imagine him running out ABDV in a crucial match - he is capable of absolute stunning fielding.... Overall, it will be a big loss if he cannot make it....

Austin 3:!6 Posted January 5, 2015 Posted January 5, 2015 Not much. Akhsar patel is a better bowler but yes he will be missed as a batsman. If Yuvraj picked, that issue will be sorted as well. The biggest concern is Bhuv Kumar's fitness. If he is not fit for the WC or goes without much match practice it will be a huge blow. He gonna be our applecart.
shortbread Posted January 5, 2015 Posted January 5, 2015 Well he will be primarily missed for his fielding; The guy is a gun fielder and among the best in the world. Dhoni places him in the most key positions and the guy always delivers. Most batsman mark him out as a no go area. Kohli, Raina and Rahane are there but Jadeja will be missed in the inner circle, no one else in the Indian line up comes anywhere close to his fielding prowess. Secondly his bowling, predictable but consistent bowler. Very useful in ODIs, but pretty sure guys like Axar can do a similar job His batting is so-so. Can deliver on his day but not very sure. Plays a good second fiddle without swallowing a lot of deliveries but nothing spectacular. But his fielding alone saves India 15-20 runs, as well as spectacular run-outs and catches.

This was after CT I don't know about ODI's there but Im guessing he was poor. He needs ball to turn so his straight one mixed in causes confusion. In Aus it is likely to be straight every ball and batsmen will confidently pick him off.

How exactly is this poor? ER doesnt matter these days in ODIs. It is all about wickets especially overseas. Both Ashwin and Jaddu were utter crap in middle overs. We had early wickets in every match but these two did zilch and their batsmen kept making big partnerships in middle overs and when you have wickets in hand, all fast bowlers will go for runs in last 10-15 overs.

Vijy Posted January 5, 2015 Posted January 5, 2015 Jaddu is still better than Ashwin, and a better bat and fielder (lesser bowler perhaps) than Akshar. Of the "spinners" that we have, I'd pick him over the others.
