shortbread Posted January 4, 2015 Posted January 4, 2015 I think both teams have comparable batting especially with Sangakarra still playing. Once he retires the SL batting line up is too inexperienced. But a far better bowling unit than India's. Their pacers aren't the fastest, still decent averaging the mid 130s. But excellent discipline and control and bowl to a plan. Lakmal, Pradeep, Prasad all seem to be much smarter bowlers than India's phaast bowling line up!! They also have all roundrs like Mathews who can hold an end up. The trump card though is that they have the world's best spinner at the moment in Herath. A regular in the side, he's miserly with the runs and chips away with wickets. In a face to face India wont really struggle against the SL pacers but they wont give away easy runs. But I am afraid some in the team will struggle against Herath, especially considering the recent struggles against spin. I don't see Indian bowlers taking 20 wickets against SL. Maybe if BK is in exceptional form, but highly unlikely.

They have some very good solid experienced batsmen and decent bowling who in good conditions can do well but I will like to see them in longer series as we saw vs England we did compete in 2 or so matches and after that wheels came off ..

More than fast bowlers it's hearth I respect the most Even we did decently with ball when wickets helped but hearth is different class compared to our spinners ..

Now with Captain Corrupt gone and hopefully with a change in personnel(Dhakkan Fletcher out) we can restart the long arduous journey to the top.

India would have won at joburg and in nzl had bhuvi or yadav played because zak was usesless and we basically had to rely on Pishant and shami to pick 20 wkts.Indian pacers are superior to lanka

Who from our side can play such innings. And what is our batting - Vijay,Rahane,Kohli Their batting - Mathews, sangakara. And Mathews +sangakarra > Vijay+rahane+kohli (on any pitch)
