How is Dale Steyn more valuable than him, he is very ordinary in odis, yes he is great, but I will take ABDV over Steyn every day. It took Sanga over 15 years to finally turn into a decent odi player so how the heck he is comparable to him. Steyn becaus he is the greatest fast bowler of all time in tests. SR of 39 in this flat pitch era..enough said. Has won more matches than anyone in this era. Sanga coz he strikes at an average of 59.8 with 12k runs and 11 double 100s.

There is nothing this guy cannot he can stone wall a bowling attack for whole day without scoring runs and score 30 ball 100s. Personally I will take Glen Mcgrath over Steyn every day of the week and twice on sundays. Sanga built his stats beating ups minnows so when he does something against good teams we will talk.

I would take a world class bowler, a <22 avg bowler any day. The great news for world cricket is that someone worthy of the record now holds the fastest 100. Now if someone could knock Rohit Sharma off that top sport for highest ODI score then we'd have worthy record holders in most forms of the game.

Can we find a better allround player than ABDV in last 40 years? 1. Mcgrath wasn't greater than Steyn. His SR(most important parameter to judge a bowler in tests) was 57 odd, Steyn's is 40. Meaning Mcgrath would get a batsman out every 57 balls and Steyn would do it every 40 balls(3overs less). Even Steyn's average is better than Mcgrath. ODIs count for little,ultimately what you do in test cricket makes you a legend. Why is it that Boycott,Sobers,Gavaskar,Clive Lloyd( all hacks in ODIs) are considered great batsmen while Dhoni,Bevan not so? 2. Styen has gotten India all out for under 100 2 times in 2 series(Ahmedabad and Nagpur I think). He has won a match in Lanka. Don't underestimate his ability to bowl in Asian pitches. He can reverse the ball, something Mcgrath could never do.

Kohli already has more centuries although he is 4 years younger, began playing ODI cricket 5 years after AB, is a better chaser, has a better record in T20s and more importantly has proven to play well in crunch games and ICC tournaments where AB largely goes unnoticed. If this very comparison was made right after the last T20 World Cup or the Champions Trophy, the votes would've been skewed more in favour of Kohli.
