mandela Posted February 3, 2015 Posted February 3, 2015 Anyone think India have a chance against Afghanistan? I think we gonna win easily, but hope India learns from the experience. :--D
Cricket_Hacker Posted February 3, 2015 Posted February 3, 2015 are u afghan? and the warmups dont have ODI status, all players can play(bit of a joke) Anyways the afghan quicks should be a good test for the India top order
mandela Posted February 3, 2015 Author Posted February 3, 2015 Our team is very hit and miss. I think the bowling is fairly good. We have some decent pacers that should do well in these conditions, but you never know... The batting on the other hand is a big problem. Big problems with rotating the strike. Will make Afridi look like Don Bradman. And Indian bowlers like Warne, Mcgrath, Wasim etc. Last time Afghanistan played India was in Asia Cup(Also last time Afghanistan match was aired on tv). They struggled big time against Indian spinners and got all out for 159.
mishra Posted February 3, 2015 Posted February 3, 2015 ^ Sorry, Not Supporting you against India. But would appreciate if Afghan teams show some resistance to us. But supporting you all the way against Pakistanis. Which are the players to watch for?
sandeep Posted February 3, 2015 Posted February 3, 2015 I think Afghanistan's confidence is a double-edged sword - it makes them perform well against weaker teams, but then they get too over-confident and make too many mistakes against stronger teams. Regardless, enjoy watching them play and like to see them do well!
mandela Posted February 3, 2015 Author Posted February 3, 2015 1. Hamid Hassan - He was a very good bowler, but then got ugly knee injury. Has been out of game since 2012 and only recently come back. 2. Mohammed Nabi has been out of form, but generally most consistent player. 3. Usman Ghani is young upcoming batsman. Reminds me of Sehwag. I don't think Afghans are overconfident. Just lack of experience.
Number Posted February 3, 2015 Posted February 3, 2015 Who was the tall guy who got Gambhir out in 2012 T20 world cup match. He can be really good on Aus pitches.
mandela Posted February 3, 2015 Author Posted February 3, 2015 Who was the tall guy who got Gambhir out in 2012 T20 world cup match. He can be really good on Aus pitches. His name is Shapoor Zadran. Left hand pace bowler.
Sandeep99 Posted February 3, 2015 Posted February 3, 2015 Nice to see us playing against Afghans.. We should play them more often.
mishra Posted February 3, 2015 Posted February 3, 2015 Clash of minnows Afghanis vs Paavaarhouse will be real David vs Goliath :hatsoff:
bowl_out Posted February 3, 2015 Posted February 3, 2015 Looking out for Shapoor Zadran... Would love to see this guy in Perth or Brisbane... In Adelaide, he'll get thrashed
BlueBee Posted February 3, 2015 Posted February 3, 2015 Afghan bowlers will get thrashes all over the park in Adelaide.

sweetaskandy Posted February 4, 2015 Posted February 4, 2015 Obviously India will hammer Afghanistan but that is expected. Afghanistan should get more ODI games against the 3 proper Asian sides. It is good for regional cricket if another decent side emerges, esp as Bangladesh have made a mess of it.

Yep India needs to groom them properly like they did with Srilanka back in the 80's.....Srilanka played often with Tamil Nadu ,a major force in India's domestid structure back in the day to gain the relevant experience.
