Expecting Pak to finish third & WI fourth. Cornered donkeys can then go have a boxing match against the kangaroos, assuming the kangaroos end second in their group.

Pak beats Ire - 4 wins, marginal better NRR, #3 4. Ire beats Ind - 4 wins, #4 5. WI beats UAE - 3 wins, Knocked Out Ire vs Pak vs WI Shoot Out: One of Pak and Ire is assured of a QF place if their game produces a result. Both could qualify if the game is washed out or a tie .... Since, WI is playing UAE, it would be able to better its NRR position. Therefore, the the Ire vs. Pak game is virtually a KO game of both teams (unless somehow the losing team's NRR > WI or WI loses to UAE) .... WI situation depends up on others + how it does against UAE PS In the above scenario, both Pak and Ire should team up to a) pray for rain, or b) play for a tie .... That would be a win-win for both teams :P

Windies should just go all out and try to win it by big margin and don't worry anything else as they really can't do anything else. Pak v Ireland becomes a really important game. They have last day matches at same time. Yes, that can be done and something ICC can think about. Though we can't really feel bad for any team though as they are themselves to blame here so far. Also another thing is that in this case where the world cup is being hosted in 2 different countries, there is a time difference of 3 hours, so that game at same time rule might not work always as you see in this instance, Napier is 3 hours ahead of Adelaide.

Yes, they can, but lot of things come into effect, like if the ground has floodlights etc. Sometimes there are games which are held in certain stadums, which still do not have floodlights. It should be done though and I agree, but soccer being just 2 hour game is easy to adjust and change schedule for then a game like crickket which last 7+ hours and can not be played in the rain either.
