i think i've cracked it folks. expand the WC format to include more associate teams i.e. 16 or even 24 if you like BUT... the first round or two of games will take on the T20 format. AND THE ICING ON THE CAKE.... scrap the T20 world cup. :hatsoff:

this can be applied to the IPL i feel the teams which make it to the quarters should be allowed to choose one player each from the unqualified members based on their table standing. so if KXIP ponjob are no.1 before the semis. then they get to choose any one player from the team which did not qualify (if they want or pass on) and give him extra money for his services. then CSK who is no.2 then no.3 then no.4 teams choose a player each this way the teams going into semis would have addressed their weaknesses and also the good players from the loser teams will still stay in the tournament.
