Among these four who do you think has been the best overall in terms of producing great fast bowling talent? Do you think some other country also deserve honourable mention?
Invasion 550 Posted March 15, 2015 Posted March 15, 2015 I wish i could vote for two countries. Those two would be Australia and Pakistan. No decade has passed in which these two teams didnt have top 5 fast bowlers of the era.

Delange hasnt played much due to injuries and this is the kind of career he will have because of this reason. Very injury prone action.

Temujin Khaghan Posted March 15, 2015 Posted March 15, 2015 pakistan produce fast bowlers but they have no unity b/w them. they fight a lot and everyone wants power. every moron who can bowl medium fast wants to lead like imran khan. they have no respect for the captain. they always try to stab his back. like afridi, shoaib, yousuf, younis, hafeez, malik, akmal bros tried to do to misbah, but failed all the time. compare that with india where even superstars like sachin, dravid, vvs all kept quiet when they realized dhoni is the dude. there was a slight murmur of mutiny from gambhir and sehwag and they were immediately beheaded once they entered bad form. compare with srilanka whose players willingly give up captaincy after they fail in the world cup. pakistan psyche has some serious power struggle issues for a nation supposed to be created for equals.
Temujin Khaghan Posted March 15, 2015 Posted March 15, 2015 i admire the fact that even though warne, mcgrath and gilly had the voice to ask for captaincy, they did not. it was a team made of champions and they won very easily all the time without ponting breaking his head over strategy. australia had more to lose if either of these three players refused to play under ponting than the reverse. but they stuck to their captain. if afridi had 1/100th of the talent as warne, he would have rised hell about the injustice of not giving him captaincy.

Australians are very professional and are least emotional with their ways of dealing things, the sports culture is very socialist where even if an all time great is out of form for say 5 test matches, he is immediately dropped (Michael Clarke). Indians and Pakistanis are opposite to this approach, they easily forgive their superstars even if they are out of form for nearly 5 years let alone 5 tests. But then, the socialist approach of white cricketers has flaws too, a socialist structure is an unhealthy environment for genius players, Kevin Pietersen is a good example.
