Vijay, Pujara, Kohli, Rahane, KL Rahul (wk), Rohit, Jadeja, Ashwin, RV Kumar, Shami, Yadav. Dhawan has had his opportunities I feel. Not reliable enough in Tests. Vijay and Pujara are two of our most technically sound batsmen, though Pujara has issues with inswingers. I think we should try them as openers. Kohli and Rahane to play in their ODI positions. For our number 5, I have a left field suggestion. I'm not convinced with Saha's ability as a batsman at Intl. level. He is a good keeper, but our lower order is too fragile. Players like Samsung and Ojha are not reliable enough. KL Rahul has kept wickets in domestic limited overs games. I feel that he will be a main stay in our Test side. He is also technically sound, and could provide a bit more certainty lower down the order. So why not try him as a keeper? Ro-Hitman Sharma could be tried at number 6. Just let him slog :om: Jadeja and Ashwin are our NOA selections. Now here comes a very bold suggestion, why not try RV Kumar as our second bowling all-rounder. Looking at this batting display: fitApIYEzGg This is inspired batting by a criminally under-rated cricketer :om: With RV Kumar, you are also getting a 2-time Ranji winning captain. Let's acknowledge the fact that it is time for the Lejund to return :om: Yadav and Shami to complete the pace attack. Other squad members: Varun Aaron, Axar Patel, Saha, Rayudu, Karn Sharma, Ishant Sharma, Mohit Sharma, Binny & Bhuvneshwar. In an ideal world, I'd have a left-arm pace bowler in the squad. Ask him to focus solely on Tests and make him the Wk-bat at number 5. Our biggest problem on the Australian tour was our lower order batting. Cost us the game at Adelaide. I'm sorry, but Dhawan needs to be dropped from the Test side. He is totally unreliable. Vijay, Pujara, Kohli, Rahane, Rahul, Rohit, Jadeja, Ashwin, B/V Kumar, Shami, Yadav. OR Vijay, Pujara, Kohli, Rahane, Rahul, Rohit, Ashwin, B/V Kumar, Second spinner, Shami, Yadav.

bowl_out Posted March 16, 2015 Posted March 16, 2015 Saha will stay on for at least another year... Dhawan and Jadeja should be permanently kept away from the Test team. I don't believe in playing somebody just because they might do well in Home Tests... Will rather play someone has a good technique to do well in away conditions, but might use home conditions to get some form before going outside home. So, it will be : Vijay, Rahul, Pujara, Kohli, Rahane, Rohit, Saha, Ashwin, 3 pacers (Shami, Umesh, Aaron) Parallely, groom Rahul to be a keeper, remove Saha and get an additional bowler (preferably a spinner - Kuldeep or Axar)

Maybe he needs a few more matches to prove his worth... He has been travelling with the team for 3-4 years without a long stint in the playing XI

It's just that I have a different idea for the team composition :--D.
