That is true. We have been force-fed to "look down upon" darker skinned people. Having said that i have seen such couples. Out of shape dark guys marrying to striking beauties. Those are anamolies though. But in general there is a bias you cannot overlook. We might see this discrimination go down in 50 years or so now that people are learning about 'racism'. Lot of us were practicing 'racism' without knowing it is 'racism'.

When we call for ban on some movies etc because it has offended the sentiments of someone, you will see it is always someone powerful who is the butt of the joke. God. Some religious figure. Some politician. Some movie star. In short people who don't need protection. We love to be offended on behalf of them However, who do we make fun of regularly? People who are downtrodden and cannot defend themselves. Poor and dark people. Transgender. Gays. Handicapped. Dwarfs. We have no respect for people who cannot protect themselves. No one feels offended on their behalf. In fact they are ones to be made more fun off. That is the kind of culture we have. Worship the powerful, trod the weak.
