I grew up watching Ind spinners do most of the bowling on our turning wkts, the performance below left me totally excited about fast bowling: Q4NST8PVMJo Have never supported trundlers over genuine pace bowlers since then .... In terms of talent and skills, Kapil was superb. In his first 50 tests he picked up 200 wkts, while in the next 81 tests, he picked up only 234 wkts, showing only flashes of his brilliance on occasions esp. on tours to Aus as seen below: KQU4ySSXaNU

Kapil Dev Handsdown...the guy at one point was the leading wicket taker in both tests and ODI's and this from a seamer who had no back up whatsoever.

Kapil. Before Kapil, Indian "pacers" were called upon to take the shine off the ball. Kapil was a damn good pace bowler between 1978-83. At this point he had a serious knee injury which reduced him as a bowler, yet he was very good until 1989. Zaheer and Srinath were probably slightly ahead of Kapil at their peaks, but I don't rate them at Kapil's level overall. Zaheer was never as consistent as Kapil and Srinath did not match Kapil in longevity. Neither Zaheer nor Srinath raised their games as well as Kapil against big opponents. Kapil has 15 five wicket hauls against Aus/Eng/SA/WI combined while Zak and Srinath have just four. Kapil did exceptionally well against the best teams of his era.

He still did well in Australia in 1992 and the WC that followed.....was decent in South Africa tour that followed.....by 93 was finished completely but yes around 87 the decline had begun but he was still India's strike bowler....need to remember that before the emergence of Kumble in 1993,he was still our go to strike bowler

I saw mostly Sreenath and Zak. I wish I had gotten to see more of Kapil Dev live. I was too young to remember, but I think Srinath was really good through his career. Zak probably had a grat comeback after that 05 county stint. I think Javagal Srinath for me. His ability to run through and bowl with pace. I remember seeing him ball really fast during that Kumble'S Delh test against Pakistan. He was really bowling fast, without much success.

why this even a question? the unanimous answer is the legendary Kapildev. longevity,work density & performance with out adequate bowling support makes Kapil wins it hands down.

Zaheer and it's not even close Im talking about Prime Zaheer. Prime Zaheer was in the top 3 fast bowlers in world. Perhaps even clear No.2 for a bit
