TNAmarkFrmIndia Posted March 19, 2015 Posted March 19, 2015 ...what would you think/say? Be honest. :--D

NareshK Posted March 19, 2015 Posted March 19, 2015 I would have laughed it off as a joke. Before WC, India looked completely out of sorts and in Aussie conditions, it looked as if they wouldnt put up much of a fight. But what a performance by our fast bowlers mashallah. Never have I seen Indian fast bowlers look so deadly and lethal. :hatsoff: All the batsmen chipped in when it mattered. It was a total team effort. Winning 7 games on the trot in this World Cup was beyond anyone's wildest imagination. Now that we got so far, let's win the whole damn thing.
vijay50 Posted March 19, 2015 Posted March 19, 2015 Unexpected. I thought India will be knocked out in QF by Aus.So this is a bonus of one more match.
Sid Posted March 19, 2015 Posted March 19, 2015 Most heartening thing is that there is no stand out performer. Its been an exemplary team effort, every team member doing his bit to perfection.
vvvslaxman Posted March 19, 2015 Posted March 19, 2015 To be honest i didn't quiet have the clear idea about the format. I thought we would be huffing and puffing to get to next round. Meeting BD in QC was unimaginable. I don't think no one saw that coming.
adi B Posted March 19, 2015 Posted March 19, 2015 winners, already mentioned in one of the threads a couple of months ago :dontknow:
bulbul Posted March 19, 2015 Posted March 19, 2015 To OP, how many Good ODI sides are there in world cricket?
Dinx - the Jinx Posted March 19, 2015 Posted March 19, 2015 To be honest, India making the semis wasnt a surprise. But winning all 7 matches is a surprise. Even if we had continued the same poor performance from the tri-series, we would have still scrapped our way to the QFs as No. 2 or No. 3 and probably beaten Aus or SL to go into SF
BlueBee Posted March 19, 2015 Posted March 19, 2015 If anyone remembers my thread ? I don't want to bump it now but after we win it. :--D
mhr123 Posted March 19, 2015 Posted March 19, 2015 I was expecting them to reach SF ... this team was too good to be left behind for long. We all know that Team India was preparing itself during the tri-series, they weren't taking any chances with any injuring and not rushing to be all out. The lost before the WC was an ideal dose to be an eye opener. My only worried factor was Yuvi not being a part of team India. Yah winning all matches and bowling with such vengeance was not even in wildest dreams
Tiger80 Posted March 19, 2015 Posted March 19, 2015 Winning 7 games is acheivement. reaching SF is not even England could have been in semi's just because of 1 food match
putrevus Posted March 19, 2015 Posted March 19, 2015 Reaching semis in this format is not a big deal even Proteas who lost badly to India and Pakistan have reached semis, winning 7 in a row and taking 70 wickets is major surprise. Mohit Sharma deserves lot of credit for bowling turnaround.
BeautifulGame Posted March 19, 2015 Posted March 19, 2015 I said we will win the world cup in the prediction thread before world cup and we r winning the whole thing In the tri series we struggled in Gabba and Perth. Two grounds we always struggle in ODIs. Whereas none of the knockouts were scheduled in those two grounds but in wkts that suit spin .And when it even helps spinners slightly we are different beast in ODI cricket But the seam bowling was real surprise.Never thought we will rip through every team by bouncing them out :hatsoff: to Shami Yadav Mohit .Also to MSD and the bowling coach for the strategy
TNAmarkFrmIndia Posted March 19, 2015 Author Posted March 19, 2015 To OP' date=' how many Good ODI sides are there in world cricket?[/quote'] Depends on how you define "good".
jf1gp_1 Posted March 19, 2015 Posted March 19, 2015 i expected us to loss in semis and that is what might happen. what is surprising is the manner in which we made it to semis winning all games, only zim came close to beating us and even that we won by 6 wickets.
vipin Posted March 19, 2015 Posted March 19, 2015 I was always expecting India to be in the semis along with Australia, Newzeland and South Africa. The only way we would not have been there is if we came up against one of these three in the quarters.
profster Posted March 19, 2015 Posted March 19, 2015 There was no concern that we won't make the QF. The entire league stage was designed to allow the big teams easy passage with tolerance for 3 losses out of 6 matches. The real worry for us was facing Aus/NZ is we qualified as B3 (2 losses and bad NRR) or B4 (3 losses but good NRR). We avoided that and now we stay another week in the tournament. We have a week's rest, the pitches are showing some signs of spin, and we got the relatively more spin friendly SCG pitch to play on. We might get owned by the Aussies/Pak. But that will require them to bring their A+ game to the match and better our A game.
