Watching him on Sky and I have got to say he presents himself brilliantly. He expresses his opinions in a non biased way and I thought he was excellent with his master class session on batting. Unlike other Asian commentators who are usually very biased, awful and state the obvious, it's refreshing to see Laxman is not in that mould. List of idiots from the sub-continent who commentate or have done recently: Ramiz Raja Ravi Shastri ShivaKrishnan Arun Lal Wasim Akram Harsha Bhogle Sanjay Manjrekar Russell Arnold Ganguly All of these clowns should be thrown in skip and never allowed back. Hopefully we can get more sensible and infortmative guys like Laxman.

Ganguly is bad?
Biased big time, almost all of the Asian commentators are. Ganguly also takes digs at other teams, I've heard him a few times having a go at SL and Pak players, but try to brush it off as banter, but will never do the same for Indian players. These are the types of men you really shouldn't like. I've got to say I like Dravid's input, but think he's suited to pundit work and not live commentary as he has a soothing kind of voice.

Ur a idiot to make such a thread and call ganguly , ravi , waseem and dravid as idiot...other commentators with exceptional to Manju ,Arnold and Arun are not bad either . Sent from my GT-I9300I

I only saw him during the South Africa-Sri Lanka game and he was good. He was making points about Sri Lanka's team composition, Jayawardene's captaincy a few years back and other subjects that others there didn't have knowledge of. It's always valuable on these broadcasts to have someone who takes a wider interest in all teams. I think his command of English has improved too, or at least he feels more at ease in the studio than the commentary box.

Arun Lal is the one who irritates the most when he talks about technique and flaws in a ODI matches ,even though being a specialist batsman his own average was 9 when he played for India.

Everyone is biased. its not such a bad thing. Commentators are human. Ganguly's bias is not plain obvious. He wears the India cap only when other co commentators tick him off. Otherwise he is sensible. Rahul Dravid always sits on the fence. Harsha is mercurial. Sometimes he is good but sometimes he just is unhearable. That said, Laxman has proved to be much improved version of himself from the past. It also helps Sky team treats him as a sort of consultant who weighs in with a particular opinion when asked rather than commenting blind.

He could still make a good commentator. I agree that he's awful BTW. But that has nothing to do with his average.

Manjrekar is the commentator I hate the most. Pretentious, "secular", and on top of it a complete air head. Add to that his innate hate for certain people, especially Tendulkar, that froths out of his mouth time and again. Never found one pearl of wisdom other than stating the obvious from his side, and like today most often he gives lol worthy embarassing sequences. The worst thing is that he sometimes simply does not understand.

Gangula comes across as a kameena (no offense). You will hardly ever see him praise the other team and hardly ever see him find problems in Indian players.
