Sid_SuhaiL Posted March 24, 2015 Posted March 24, 2015 I was rooting for kiwis but dejected faces of Faf, Abdv, Steyn & especially Morne ( he gave his everything in this tourney ) made me sad :(( This was probably Steyn's last WC appearance not sure if Morne will hang around in ODIs in 4 years to come.

Stuge Posted March 24, 2015 Posted March 24, 2015 Imo better team reached the finals .NZ was more consistent and was a better side today They chased down mammoth score of 298 in 43 overs is no mean task.Before the start of the match rain was predicted which meant team batting first will have disadvantage over team batting second with duck worth lewis in place.SA had no choice.,but to bat first since they were poor against India and Pak while chasing.

This was their best shot winning the cup and now they missed that train. But feel sad for ABD, the guy really give it all, unfortunately none of his team mates supported him, especially Steyn.

ABDV run out miss after he overran the stumps - normally ABDV does not miss out on those, but he did De Kock rush of blood causing a run out miss (missed the throw) - in another game, Anderson would have been runout Duminy & Behardien colliding and making a mess of a simple catch - Pressure driven panic And DeKock was a no-show in the entire world cup and Amla in the crunch games. And Steyn did not live up to his lofty reputation Overall SAF had one brilliant game vs Lanka, but looked beatable against worthy opponents and were beaten by India, Pak & now by NZL. They do not deserve to win the world cup. NZL did everything right throughout the tournament, it'd be a shame if they did not advance. Think about it, this is NZL's best chance in a world cup as well. These small grounds suit them and they have a team that is playing well together. But i think the winner of the Aus vs Ind game will take the cup. If that ends up being a good game, this world cup would be a success!

The only time I can see these same set of players playing together is next year in world t20. It is hard to imagine all of these playing again in England. 4 years is long time, how ever next year is a possibility.
