Forever Indian Posted May 15, 2015 Posted May 15, 2015 More than the batting, it's bowling which has let RR down. - They have only 1 genuine and capable spinner. They really need to invest on getting good spin bowlers - Kulkarni has looked out of sorts, Faulkner is leaking a lot of runs particular at death overs. They really need better local fast bowlers. They should get Vikramjeet Malik into team. Whatever limited opportunities RR gave him past seasons he performed pretty well.
someone Posted May 15, 2015 Posted May 15, 2015 They should get Vikramjeet Malik into team. Whatever limited opportunities RR gave him past seasons he performed pretty well. He is an option but isn't any better than others. I would rather play Rajat Bhatia over him, as Rajat has that batting edge.
Zelig Posted May 16, 2015 Posted May 16, 2015 Should they fire Dravid if they fail to qualify for the playoffs? :hmmm:
someone Posted May 16, 2015 Posted May 16, 2015 Watson will be dropped tonight :om: That's silly. And is there a better player than Watson atm? And it's not like Watson is performing poorly, he is still one of their better performers this year again. If Watson is dropped, suddenly your top 5 batting consists of Rahane, Nair, Samson and Binny. And that's not good enough at all. Imo, Watson should bat at No.4, he looks at a ease against spinners and struggles big time against both pace and swing bowling.
G_B_ Posted May 16, 2015 Posted May 16, 2015 you need to make a call on Nair... not sure he is adding much to the team
BeautifulGame Posted May 16, 2015 Posted May 16, 2015 Drop Binny for Tambe Also need to promote Hooda ahead of the likes of Nair and Morris in death Overs .That decision nearly cost RR the match
G_B_ Posted May 16, 2015 Posted May 16, 2015 yeah i think RR need to drop Binny for Tambe or Ankit Sharma most likely they will face sunrisers or MI in the eliminator.
someone Posted May 16, 2015 Posted May 16, 2015 And some wanted to drop Watson! He is still a very good player. However, Faulkner (the bowler) on the other hand is out of sorts. Had he bowled the last over, imo, KKR would have scored the required 16 runs. Honestly, RR got lucky today. They bowled poorly, had plenty of wides and extras. Other than Tambe/Morries, the bowling line-up is too one-dimensional.
G_B_ Posted May 16, 2015 Posted May 16, 2015 RR need a proper frontline spinner to complement Tambe. Tambe is doing a job but he is in his 40s. Every season is a bonus at that age. Not impressed with Twetia or Sharma as a back up. They lack the quality. Its worth a do get somebody like Shabaz Nadeem for next season.
someone Posted May 16, 2015 Posted May 16, 2015 Obviously, RR needs better bowlers. Wrote that earlier as well. RR need spinners, that's number one priority. Secondly, better fast bowlers (both international and local). Only one quality spinner in their entire squad is not good enough. And that quality spinner is a 43 year old player, so big problems in their bowling department. RR have the worst record in bowling the last 5 overs this year, and I think even last year as well.
