sage Posted March 31, 2015 Posted March 31, 2015 Yes we can enjoy watching matches with pre-determined results. Like WWE is the IPL
Precambrian Posted March 31, 2015 Posted March 31, 2015 and you get to laugh at people who take it reallly seriously :hysterical::hysterical::hysterical: like chuski fans on ICF IPL is what sports should be - total fun in a super package without any mental baggage. No jingoism, patriotic BS etc.. Just sit back and yenjoy Can't believe I used to support MI when Tendulkar was around. In some ways, Tendulkar's retirement has liberated the cricket lover in me from the shackles of Sachin lover.
Precambrian Posted March 31, 2015 Posted March 31, 2015 Yes we can enjoy watching matches with pre-determined results. Like WWE is the IPL Maama has planned even the rotations on the ball sent down by Ashwin.
G_B_ Posted March 31, 2015 Posted March 31, 2015 allows ICF members to troll each other. Cant troll many when they support the same team as you do.
CSK Fan Posted April 1, 2015 Posted April 1, 2015 We might have refined taste in the arts. Doesn't mean we cannot enjoy item numbers once in a while. IPL is the Sunny Leone of cricket
Marut Posted April 1, 2015 Posted April 1, 2015 IPL 2015 will be much better than WC 2015 one sided borefests.
BeautifulGame Posted April 1, 2015 Posted April 1, 2015 Its always amusing to see our test kirkut only fans who diss IPL all year and then coming out with excuses to watch IPL

CSK Fan Posted April 1, 2015 Posted April 1, 2015 Lol, IPL lovers pretending that they do not watch any other form of cricket. They sulk around the cricket forum more than anyone else
PBN Posted April 1, 2015 Posted April 1, 2015 Its always amusing to see our test kirkut only fans who diss IPL all year and then coming out with excuses to watch IPL I guess this haappens every year. Sometimes, Test cricket thread is opened in Cricket Talk at the time of IPL. Whenever the IPL forum is visited, there's always a disclaimer that goes something like I haven't been following IPl, just watching this match. :hysterical: It's as if someone is going to fine them or that their 'reputation' will be tarnished without the disclaimer. That's ok though, each to his own. The majority of people enjoy all forms of cricket whether it be Test,ODI's,T20, domestic cricket. To classify someone who watches IPL as someone who only watches it, would be incorrect.

rajmarie Posted April 2, 2015 Posted April 2, 2015 IPL is where you see Starc getting hammered,Veenie koomar taking wkts,Yuvis sixes,Rohit's 20 ball 50's,Bhajjis Darts,Dhonis Helicopter,Dinda's Hayricks and much much more..... :two_thumbs_up: You forgetting that you only see Gayle in IPL
MK55 Posted April 2, 2015 Posted April 2, 2015 IPL is the only time our domestic batters get exposed the quality fast bowlers. And most of these bowlers bowl at full tilt as the competition for the overseas slots is intense. I'm excited to watch how are domestic hitters go about in this tournament. Also a good opportunity for our bowlers to hone their death bowling skills.
MK55 Posted April 2, 2015 Posted April 2, 2015 Yes have to admit genuine quick stuff under lights - m.tiwary getting his stick knocked out away in aus by lee - beaten purely for pace a tad overwhelmed by the occasion too I think. Hope we have improved on that - there are a fair bit of negatives too though any movement when they represent the nation and the batters aggressive intent doesn't reconcile with what is expected of them - their muscle memory and what have you. Conventional spinners struggle having forgotten the art of flighting although for a brief period but these things tend to creep in and stay in with no off season available to remedy this. Yeah.. There can be some negatives especially if you get accustomed to playing only one kind of innings. IPL wouldn't help in developing players for test cricket. But it definitely can play a substantial role for T20s and ODIs. Most wickets these days are flat and with the field restrictions and batsman friendly rules, the role of power hitters and strike bowlers has become prominent in today's game. Hopefully IPL can help us to some extent for the other 2 formats.
