So far modi has not taken single decisive step which was expected from him given the mandate he got. Not a single thing has changed so far for a normal citizen. He is just stalling like rest of politicians.

how was manmohan singh in 2004-05 ? i barely recall. No doubt he was less spectacular than 56 inch Gujarati Arnold Schwarzenegger . I know that Oil prices more than tripled in the ensuing years , the largest spike in Oil prices since the Oil shock of the 70's. And the stock markets witnessed a historic boom from 2004-2007.

Manmohan was busy planting the seeds of the 2G, CWG and Coal Scams.

there hasnt been any major financial or political scandal so by that token modi is already far ahead
For that matter, no scandals came out in MMS's first term either, it came out in his second term..

There is no comparison between the two. 1. Foreign Policy- Modi has been enormous. 2. Keeping corruption in check in his govt. 3. Economy seems to be getting better judging by how Financial service corps are rating Indian economy and its future. 4. Emphasis on infrastructure projects. Only downside I see is inflation at the ground level seems to be out of control. Hence I see a lot disenchantment among people.

Manmohan singh was not elected by people of India in 2004, BJP got lesser number of seats but Congress was not even near the majority they with the help of Left and many others formed the government so their was no big expectations from Manmohan in 2004 from people of India. Modi was elected by people of India with huge majority which means people have great expectations. So the comparison is unfair. Since the expectation was not much from the people of India, each and every move of Dr Manmohan Singh was not scruitinized by media. What Digvijay Singh, Beni PRasad Verma, Lalu Yadav were saying did not made big headlines and never MAnmohan was asked to apologize on their behalf. It is exactly opposite with Modi. The perception about Dr Manmohan Singh was not bad in people of India's opinion. Even the opposition parties never targeted Manmohan Singh personally. It is exactly opposite in case of Mr Modi, he has either extreme fan following or extreme haters. And each and every word he says has been carefully watched by both. So the pressure more on Modi. Manmohan when started his term had a GDP growth rate of 9% in 2004 and booming economy. Modi when started the growth rate was very low and economy not in good shape. In short it is similar to Indian Cricketing history, Manmohan Singh can be equated with Mohammad Azharudin and Modi with Saurav Ganguly.

We might be still paying 80 or 90 USD for crude. We mighT be booking the contract 6 or 7 months earlier. We can judge him after the price fall is completely taken into account. But definitely modi is lucky for the fall in oil pRiCes

Is OP being deliberately ignorant of facts due to political bias? Not really sure. Didn't IMF predict that India is set to surpass China's economic growth rate? By the way, you cannot really judge an impact a Prime Minister has in such a short time. It took many many years after PVNR relinquished his PM responsibilities to actually recognize the contribution he had in India's recovery from the doldrums.

MMS was the worst leader a nation could have' date=' a pathetic human being.[/quote'] But was lucky enough to reap the benefits of the good work done by NDA during his first term. Sh!t hit the fan in the second term when all the UPA 1's policies started showing results.
