Guy won't skip a single match in circus league because he is Mallya's ***** but captaining the national team is such a useless, unwanted burden for him. Even Dhoni wasn't the captain when he decided to not tour Lanka in 2008 because of 'IPL fatigue'. Abusing team mates, having an exaggerated opinion of oneself, putting money over country,behaving like a wuss, fighting the media, showing middle finger to cricket fans.... all the attributes we need in our future mainstay. IPL is killing Indian cricket !!!! Not at all... He brings fight from the whole team like no Indian team before. Disagreed.

IPL has alot of money in it so its understandable people give it great importance when they can make millions...who wouldn't lol He considers BD tour irrelevant I do too tbh...Im positive he cares about his legacy as player and captain and has said he wants to make runs on all overseas tours and vs big teams in general before. He won't miss those.

That is a nearly 3 week break right there. This has been case for the past 3-4 years. The truth is Rahane has played a more net cricket over the past 2 years if you include ranji and IPL and champions leaguematches....I mean take Che pujara, he has played more grinding net cricket than Virat in the 4 first class matches for yorkshire. And He needs similar rest this year as well.That 15-20days rest in two years is hardly enough for the amount of cricket India played in last 2 years.Even Dhoni was rested for the Lanka ODIs despite skipping the Ban series along with Dhoni Rahane played grand total of 2 Ranji matches in last 2 years .Kohli has played same no of Test matches if tests are included as Rahane has even with Ranji. Neither did RR last year.Difference is Rahane most of last 2 years has been a squad played didnt play much in ODIS.Kohli has nearly played double the number of ODIs Rahane has in last 2 years .And most of them away from home .And for CL,Rahane hardly played in WT20 when was playing every match.Kohli has played far more cricket in last 2 years than Rahane whether you include Ranji or IPL.Rahane wasnt even part of the XI for the CT WI tour or the Aus ODIs whereas Kohli played every match of them. Dont make this an ipl hating issue. I like the IPL. But Kohli should not be captain if he wants rest from test matches. Simple as that. BeautifulGame Posted May 16, 2015 Posted May 16, 2015 To summarize yes I would prefer if Kohli plays the test match.But if he thinks close to burn out and wants to skip a meaningless Ban tour.Then fair play to him.Kohli has played 15 test 60 ODI apart from World T20 and ipl in last 2 years.And almost all of them over seas. We have far more important series coming up soon to risk a burn out for Kohli.He deserves that right considering the amount of cricket he has played.

So no need to worry about Kangladesh tour. Frankly it is stupid of BCCI to organize this tour in the first place. IPL is a BCCI sponsored domestic competition where all the Indians would take part. Even Pujara is playing county.

TBH I am averse to getting into such stats but I wanted to make a point that Kohli along with Rahane have been the most busy players over the last year and they deserve some rest before the important series ahead....Knowing bangladesh's test record, I believe we can have it easy against them even without Kohli and some others..

It seriously needs to develop a talent pool bigger than Australia so that there's enough quality replacements available 24/7/365, coz I don't see it going easy on scheduling. I have no issues with him missing the ODIs.
