Temujin Khaghan Posted May 22, 2015 Posted May 22, 2015 please forgive my IPL innocence and someone answer this doubt... suppose a newbie player is picked by some stupid team for say $300K and then he has a tremendous season and gets selected for the national team. he becomes a superstar then what is his situation. is he stuck at $300K for the next two seasons.. 2) there is another player who is being paid well, but hates his IPL team. he has good demand. can he opt out of the team despite them wanting to retain him is he a slave, who cannot opt out of the team and go for fresh auctions - that is held after 3 seasons the same team can buy him again in the fresh auctions... but my doubt is that can he atleast say that **** with your retaining me, i am going for fresh auctions, get me from there if you want???

They should at the pro leagues in the US where players get to play for a while with their teams on longer contracts like 4-5 years, then they become free agents and they can sign with any other team including their own. The auction style is bogus and needs to be scrapped altogether as it inflates some player salaries in a major way due to overbidding.

They were dumb enough not to buy good players and they have released some good players. Team should retain 5 players and that should be the core. I don't want Gambo to be captain of DD or SRH after winning two cups for KKR

Was frustrated when one of the super overs (RR v KXIP?) featured all foreigners with our guys doing only fielding :mad: IPL is to throw spotlight on the local talent (according to me atleast) like Iyer, Hooda, Pandya, etc. And 4 foreigners rule also ensures only the cream of international players can get a look in.

If anything IPL needs to expand to more teams rather than increase number of foreign players allowed.

But increasing no of foreigners is most viable right now.
