Ironhide Posted June 2, 2015 Posted June 2, 2015 tbh' date=' even a BCCI panel with SRT, dada and VVS along with the interim coach ravi sastri, batting coach bangar sounds like some kind of mash up masala to me. as G_B said too many cooks spoil the broth. why have bangar when you have SRT? spare a thought for bowling too, which is pathetic recently. we desperately need a good bowling coach than a batting coach.[/quote'] BCCI advisory committee consisting of Sachin, Sourav and VVS has been confirmed everywhere including cricnfo, there is nothing to get confused here, the BCCI advisory committee will give suggestions and advise on all things related to Cricket( Both Domestic and International cricket) to the BCCI. They are not coaches. Where as Shastri, Banger etc are on the interim coaching duty who will travel with team and coach the players for Bangladesh series and later a new coach and team will be decided after Bangladesh tour and before Zim tour.
Gollum Posted June 3, 2015 Posted June 3, 2015 From FB: Yesterday when we heard the news about Sachin, VVS and Dada becoming part of the BCCI advisory Committee, our first reaction was - Where's Rahul Dravid? Turns out, he too was approached for the same but he has opted to be the coach of the Under-19 team to mentor the younger brigade for the Bigger role. As always, Dravid takes the lesser appreciated but the tougher job.

yoda Posted June 3, 2015 Posted June 3, 2015 Nothing wrong in declining to work with someone you are not comfortable with. His time will probably be better spent with U-19 anyways than sitting in a committee.
