If Vijay can hold one end up, rotate the strike, and support others by being consistent, I guess, he would have done his job (70 of 90 kind of knocks, which means he would be there till the 30th - 35th over. If there is a huge opening partnership, someone like Kohli can came in at 3) .... The type of game Rahane has, he would be more useful when played in the top 3

Dhoni is past it... The players too have lost respect for him and can't be bothered whether he wins or loses...

What's the point in staying in ODI side and blocking a spot when someone else can come in and cement his place ? Its clear he is not half the batsman he used to be. Its just going to get worse. Better retire sooner rather than later. It's not just about him blocking... He selects his pet players and removes fast bowlers at the drop of a hat... So he effectively blocks many places in the team as a defensive captain... The main issues is him as a captain, not as a player per say... Today's run out he effected was top class... He is still a decent bat up the order.... But he SUCKS as captain as he's too defensive and predictable...
