Rohit sharma has been supported over pujara kl rahul and even rahane Similarly umesh has pace....knowledge and intelligence. .I agree he is not too good but he has the speed. R u saying likes of vk or other pacers wud do better...no they won't. Offer option do u think we have better fast bowlers or even Trundlers. we don't have better options. buddy...i understand your passion for fast bowling but unfortunately, he has regressed big time. When he made a debut, back in 2009-10, he was a very good bowler with a nice out-swing. He also bowled really well in champion trophy (mini-world cup) in England. After that its all down-hill I hope he comes back strong. I am counting on Kohli to give him that confidence.

What down hill after that? Umesh has been our best fast bowler in last one year along with Shami in ODIs. He averaged 21 in last 1 year. Was our top wicket taker in WC along with Shami.

what downfall? Last test he played in India was in 2012 at Ahmedabad and he helped India won that game. After that, he got a back fracture and was out for 6 months and never played another test till India's tour to Australia last year. How do you expect a guy to come in the team after 2 years and straight away do great, especially, on those flat pitches where even opposition pacers struggled. He kept warming benches on SA and NZ tour, wasn't even picked for England tour with no real fault of his. How many tests did he play in last 3 years since he came back from injury, let me know?

To be a successful fast bowler, he should know when and where to pitch the ball for each delivery, irrespective of the pitch. This is where Yadav lacks, he don't have the control to get those 6 deliveries right, always too wayward.

How can anyone say he was out of form without giving him a game? Either he was not selected or was benched in the away tours of saf,nzl,England.only in aus he got the chance to play that too in the second test,he was by far our best bowler in the Melbourne and gabba test picking 10 wkts in 2 test @34 ,it was only in Sydney where he got smoked and that pitch was a disgrace. You tell me,had umesh or bhuvi been there instead of an aging zak in saf and nzl,wouldn't we have won in joberg and Wellington?

Indian quicks often take more wickets in India than abroad, in tests or 4/5 day games, because of reverse swing. I don't think patta wicket is an excuse for taking no wickets. Umesh is good one day and very bad another day. No consistency.
