For starters Laxman was played out of position as an opener thats why the poor numbers .Also We dropped Laxman who went back to domestic cricket scored record breaking runs and made a comeback into the team. This will be tough for rohit these are slow pitches and spin friendly which takes voids rohits backfoot play.His best position is top of order as he gets stuck against spinners as he cannot rotate.
