It helped because it gave the team a steady start and 50 runs in the first 8 overs made it sure that we cannot lose the match. Also played some good shots while Dhawan was looking edgy throughout.

come on be fair - he actually played well until he threw his wicket away. Kept the game in control while dhawan was completely at sea. But still, shot selection snafu and threw it away stupidly.

He will need to do better than this against WI and Aus.
