I am not sure why he was considered for ODI's instead of tests. this question has be posed on ICF for ages,he should have been tried in the tests first but he idiotically got injured before a south african test at home and now he cant buy a run against pretty mediocre bowlers.

maniac Posted July 29, 2012 Posted July 29, 2012 I still think Rohit's failure is to do with his temperament....Now before people bring up Kohli---Let me say that Kohli is definetely a once in a lifetime talent but with Rohit and most of the other youngsters it is like every game is their last game because they know that they won't make it to the starting line-up no matter what due to the weird rotation policy we seem to have. Look at Tiwary for eg;the guy gets a 100 and still is not a regular fixture for the next few games....reminds me of a time when Lamba and then later WV Raman scored 100's but still never cemented their place or were not given a long enough rope due to weird reasons Look at the swagger Rohit brings in the IPL where he knows he is one of the MVP's in the lineup.Now before people call T20 a circus,etc,some of the teams do have pretty great bowling line-ups.Before people post hysterical smileys and ridicule my post,i am not judging Rohit on his IPL exploits but just saying that handling all the constant rotation may not be everyone's cup of tea. The guy needs mental conditioning which is a norm in so many other sports,if we discard him,we will be losing a super-talent for sure.

Everyone talks about his temperament. But there is something wrong with his technique when he gets out trying to defend and not to reckless shots.
