sourab10forever Posted September 3, 2015 Posted September 3, 2015 WACA , the stadium with the fastest pitch in the world will no longer host important test matches and big bash league games.CA has decided to move all fixture involving India ,South africa and England to a newer 1.2 billion aus$ stadium with a capacity of about 60,000 people. Dennis lillee,the president of WACA has stepped down sighting that he could not stand there and see this happen. Meanwhile, CA has stated that the move was made in order to show the world that they had two world class stadiums and that this would attract more people towards the game.(:hysterical:) Source : cricbuzz RIP WACA :((
zep1706 Posted September 4, 2015 Posted September 4, 2015 WACA's facilities were certainly dated but it is an iconic cricket ground with a distinct character that you won't find anywhere else. It is a very sad decision for true cricket lovers.

G_B_ Posted September 5, 2015 Posted September 5, 2015 Its not the stadium as such which is the problem, its the drop in pitches... they have no soul and are flat. If Australia can manage to provide drop in pitches which have life and support spin or pace to produce a result then IMO i wont care too much. The problem with Australia is they make drop in pitches. Then their fans come up with conspiracy theories about how ACB are providing India with good strips. You cant have it both ways. The difference between India and England touring Aus was India were much better than England on flat pitches and did not fold which caused the Aussie bowlers to bowl long spells.

G_B_ Posted September 6, 2015 Posted September 6, 2015 Australia have been wise... this stadium doubles up as Aussie Rules and cricket and will also host other events. So the stadium is in use throughout the year. You look at say london, there are separate cricket, rugby and football pitches
