Iconoclast Posted October 9, 2015 Posted October 9, 2015 (edited) Stunning return to first class cricket for Mohd Amir after a 5 year absence. He's got 27 wickets @ 9 average in his first 3 matches back including to two 10-fors in the last 2 matches. HippoSucks Posted October 9, 2015 Posted October 9, 2015 (edited) These are the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy Qualifiers, and are not official first class matches. Also these performances were with Grays balls, not the Kookaburra. Nonetheless it is a great comeback and some of his wickets were of established FC batsman. I think he also got some runs with the bat.http://www.pcb.com.pk/inter-department-qualifying-201516/match/28107.htmlhttp://www.pcb.com.pk/inter-department-qualifying-201516/match/28121.htmlhttp://www.pcb.com.pk/inter-department-qualifying-201516/match/28143.htmlHe might not be allowed to play first class matches for around 6 months, until completing the rehabilitation program (or that restriction might only be for Asif and Salman Butt). But if he is allowed then he should at least play 5-6 FC matches or even a full season before being brought back. UAE isn’t a good place to start a comeback anyway, some failures there might ruin his confidence. Edited October 9, 2015 by HippoSucks
Iconoclast Posted October 9, 2015 Author Posted October 9, 2015 Amir completed the rehabilitation program, Asif and Butt have not.I think the ODI series would be a good time to bring him back however the PCB don't seem to be to keen on selecting him.
swatpulla Posted October 9, 2015 Posted October 9, 2015 He is in a different league compared to the players he is competing against. How he adapts to international cricket will be interesting to see.
mishra Posted October 9, 2015 Posted October 9, 2015 Allthough its on back of pathetic Pakistani batters, But i think guy has learned his lesson, a deserves a chance.
Austin 3:!6 Posted October 9, 2015 Posted October 9, 2015 Great bowler no doubt...but a crookSent from my GT-I9505 using Tapatalk
Lannister Posted October 9, 2015 Posted October 9, 2015 Atleast for his talent, he deserves one more chance. Lately, Pakistan has become a mediocre team, there's no exciting players to watch except for Yasir. I don't even know most of the names from the current squad. They need someone like Amir.
tweaker Posted October 9, 2015 Posted October 9, 2015 He should not return to International cricket so easily.
Gollum Posted October 9, 2015 Posted October 9, 2015 Love Amir the bowler, hope we see him in pak colours soon. Too many hacks averaging 50+ these days because of weak bowling attacks.
CG Posted October 10, 2015 Posted October 10, 2015 Love Amir the bowler, hope we see him in pak colours soon. Too many hacks averaging 50+ these days because of weak bowling attacks.Currently I think Very Few Batsman Average 50+ among those who have played 20-30 odd tests.
kosingh Posted October 10, 2015 Posted October 10, 2015 Yeah the days of frequent 500+ totals, the number of batters averaging 50+, and the number of matches lasting full 15 sessions seem to have gone down in the last 1-2 years. Batsmen just can't seem to deal with test cricket very well anymore.
FischerTal Posted October 10, 2015 Posted October 10, 2015 By now this guy would have been ruling the world. easily number one bowler in all formats. Can't wait to see him back. World cricket needs a new fast bowling idol to look up to.
