MK55 Posted November 29, 2015 Posted November 29, 2015 (edited) Which bowlers would you choose for Australia series? So far the wickets against SA have all been rank turners and fast bowlers haven't had any opportunity to better their game.Bowlers have been embarrassing in the the ODI series preceding the tests and I personally would prefer to permanently let go of bowlers like Mohit/Aravind. Also conditions will be completely different in Aus and these trundlers would prove to be even more innocuous.Shami hasn't played internationals for a while. Not sure if he's gonna find his rhythm and pace immediately once he comes back. Boult has not even looked half the bowler he was prior to his injury break. So which bowlers?I'll go with Yadav, Aaron, Shami (if completely fit with adequate match practice), Ishant/BK as pacers.Ashwin and Jadeja as spinners. Axar has proved to be ridiculous with the bat. We do need some extra batters/ 'bowling all-rounders' in Australia. Edited November 29, 2015 by MK55
rkt.india Posted November 29, 2015 Posted November 29, 2015 BK, Mohit, Aravind, Vinay the legund doccricket 1
MK55 Posted November 29, 2015 Author Posted November 29, 2015 BK, Mohit, Aravind, Vinay the legundWill be surprised if we don't end up with at least 3 of the 4 you have mentioned. Probably the three would even find a place in the playing 11
Mosher Posted November 29, 2015 Posted November 29, 2015 Seriously though pace attack should be same as in world cup with one change Ishant replacing Mohit and Aaron should be in the reserves. But since Dhoni considers quick bowlers(Umesh and Aaron) as inaccurate, bowling attack will most likely be Shami(if fit), Ishant, Bk, Mohit and Aravind doccricket 1
express bowling Posted November 29, 2015 Posted November 29, 2015 Don't we have pacers bowling 115 k. They would be so accurate. [emoji12]
rkt.india Posted November 29, 2015 Posted November 29, 2015 On a serious note, Ishant, BK, Aaron, Umesh, and Aniket Chaudhary. I want Chaudhary there even for the sake of experience. Hardik Pandya as a seam bowling alrounder. Shami isnt back to bowling yet , so, have doubts he will be risked. doccricket 1
Straight Drive Posted November 29, 2015 Posted November 29, 2015 Varun has economy rate of 6.61. I think that cannot be ignored. Warner and other Aussie batters at end like max, Faulkner will make that economy rate of 6.61 to 8 or 9 rpo.Umesh has eco rate of 5.84. Two of them in same team is offering loads of opportunities to opposition to tank up a big total. Our batsmen cannot chase huge scores against the likes of Starc and other pacers in OZ.Ishant has eco rate of 5.69 so he is marginally better than Umesh and substantially better than Varun as far as runs leaked are concerned.Bhuvi has eco of 4.82.
Ankit_sharma03 Posted November 29, 2015 Posted November 29, 2015 (edited) Will suggest Jasprit bumrahHas done well in domstic, a tours , IplHas a gud yorker, a diff bowler, get extra bounce has pace.I doubt he ll a gud test bowler but he looks perfect for Odis No point wasting him in Domestic n after some yrs he reduces his pace Others Bhuvi- His current form is not very good. Still wud consider him. Specially his perfomance against teams like Sa, Aus, Nz isnt gud as these player play swing well n r nt afraid to step down the pitch n attack. Shami- Hope he his fitUmesh- For sure, but since our captain does not tell a fast bowler to scare an opp but rather scare his own fast bowler . So dnt expect much from him. N one bad game he ll b droppedAaron - has high eco, but has improved .Ishant- never liked him as an odi bowlerSo basically no way we r winning Odi series in Aus , We hve no bowlers . None In such sitatition putting in a new bowler wud nt b a bad idea- Aniket choudhary, Chahar, Nathu singhI mean how bad they ll do n REm Balaji, irfan, PK , Ishant did well on 1st aus tour against much stronger aus team. Will Definately have Hardik Pandya over Binny n even wud consider Irfan pathan PRay PRay PRay- we have a change in captaincy b4 aussie tour Edited November 29, 2015 by Ankit_sharma03 doccricket 1

Matches are in Australia where quicker bowlers have generally done well. Umesh was India's highest wicket taker in world cup taking 18 wickets at an econ. rate of 4.98. Aaron has hardly played a lot of ODI's. He is still a rookie in ODI.Overall BK has a good econ. rate but he hardly takes any wickets. This year he has really regressed. Have a look at BK stats this year: 13 matches 16 wickets Econ rate: 5.57 Avg 36.06. Economy rate is nothing special and not a wicket taking bowler. He should go back to domestic cricket for a while and work on his game.Umesh stats this year: 14 matches 25 wickets Econ Rate: 5.72 Avg: 25.28. Economy rate is marginally higher than BK but is a wicket taking bowler. Much better average. But he is dropped from the ODI squad for Dhoni's favorite bowlers who are clearly not better bowlers than Umesh. doccricket and express bowling 2

ER alone doesn't matter if you can't take wickets.Xactlu shudnt judge someone so soon.A. These r pace bowlers who have no proper guidance like Akhtar , lee, johnson had akram, waqaar, mcgrath, lileeb. they had a captain who showed no faith in them so m not they werent used as wkt taking bowler. C. they shud only b used as wkt taking bowler like lee akhtar were used. Yes they ll go away for runs but wkts can bring rr down . No point givng 3-4 runs over in beg n let warner , Abdv batsman get set coz then u cnt stop them D. Bhuvi record is not gud against aus , Nz n sa for a reason. I meant we had Economical bowler in Sa series look we ended up giving 430 . I mean how worst cud have aaron umesh done. Even if they wud hve given lots of runs m sure they wud have atleast had more wkts Mosher and express bowling 2
express bowling Posted November 29, 2015 Posted November 29, 2015 I am sure there will be some differences between which pacers we would want in the team and which pacers are finally chosen.BK and Umesh will be there. Most probably Mohit too. Shami is not fit yet. Don't really have much idea who the fourth seamer actually will be....Aravind if we are really unlucky. Binny will be the seaming all-rounder.I would like them to be Ishant, Umesh, Bhuvi, Aaron and Bumrah...with Hardik Pandya as the seaming all-rounder. doccricket 1

Mosher Posted November 29, 2015 Posted November 29, 2015 Shami is still not fully fit. He is going through rehab. Though he is bowling in the nets albeit with a shorter run up. Probably he is targeting a comeback for India Aus ODI's. doccricket 1

tweaker Posted November 30, 2015 Posted November 30, 2015 Rookie bowlers like Bumrah,Harshal Patel,Anureet Singh,Hardik Pandya Krishna Das should be considered for Aussie tour instead of Mohit,Arnind,Binny etc
fineleg Posted November 30, 2015 Posted November 30, 2015 Rookie bowlers like Bumrah,Harshal Patel,Anureet Singh,Hardik Pandya Krishna Das should be considered for Aussie tour instead of Mohit,Arnind,Binny etc Make Kohli odi captain and we can try some bowlers along with kohli's selection of UY and VA. Else MSD will select mohit and arvind and binny.
