Singh bling Posted December 28, 2015 Posted December 28, 2015 (edited) INTENSE infighting among senior Congress leaders in Mumbai came to the fore once again on Monday following a controversy over articles featuring in a mouthpiece brought out by the party’s city unit.In a major embarrassment to the party, articles in the December issue of “Congress Darshan” have questioned Jawaharlal Nehru’s policy on the Kashmir issue and alleged that the Sonia Gandhi’s father was a “fascist soldier” leaving the party squirming over the controversy on its Foundation Day on Monday. Another article says Mrs Gandhi became Congress president 62 days after joining the party as a primary member in 1997, and also made a failed attempt to form a government. That the journal which is meant for internal circulation among office bearers made its way to the press ahead of the Foundation Day had the party in a flap. While Mumbai Congress chief and the journal’s editor Sanjay Nirupam took the blame for the articles, his loyalists complained that his detractors had deliberately leaked the matter to the press to target him.“It is an irreparable mistake. While I’m not involved with the day-to-day functioning of the journal, I take responsibility for the same. Action will be initiated against all those responsible, and steps would be initiated to ensure that same is not repeated again,” Nirupam told the Indian Express.Editorial board member and party leader Bhushan Patil later informed that the journal’s editor Sudhir Joshi had been sacked. Nirupam, a former journalist himself, also said that he had plans to revamp the editorial board and would personally monitor the editorial content published in Congress Darshan.Incidentally, the controversy has surfaced within a couple of months after Nirupam revived the journal, which had been discontinued four years ago. “This was only the second edition after it was revived,” a party insider said. The controversial articles have only appeared in the Hindi edition of Congress Darshan, which has a Marathi edition too.An unsigned write-up in the December issue of the Hindi edition blames Nehru for “the state of affairs in Kashmir, China and Tibet”. The article states that Nehru should have listened to Patel’s views on international affairs and that the relationship between the two leaders remained strained.“Despite Patel getting the post of Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister, the relations between the two leaders remained strained, and both had threatened to resign time and again,” the article says. If Nehru had embraced Patel’s foresight, many problems in international affairs would not have arisen, it adds. The article cites a letter that Patel purportedly wrote in 1950 to caution Nehru against China’s policy towards Tibet and in which “Patel described China as unfaithful, and a future enemy of India.”“Had Patel been heard (by Nehru) then, the problems of Kashmir, China, Tibet and Nepal wouldn’t have existed now. Patel opposed Nehru’s move of taking the Kashmir issue to the UNO,” stated the article, adding, “Nehru did not agree with Patel’s views on Nepal.”Another article, which focuses on the Congress President, describes her early life in great detail, including her “ambition to become an airhostess”, as well as allegation that her father was a member of the Italian forces that lost to the Russians in the World War.“Sonia Gandhi’s father Stephano Maino was a former fascist soldier,” it alleged. The write-up also describes how Sonia quickly rose to the position of party president.“Sonia Gandhi registered as a primary member of the Congress in 1997 and became the party’s president in 62 days. She also made an unsuccessful attempt to form a government,” the article says.Patil said that both the Hindi and the Marathi editions were brought out on December 8, which coincides with Sonia’s birthday, with 200 copies each printed for “internal circulation among members.” Party sources said that internal bickering in the party’s Mumbai Congress was worrying, especially since civic elections are scheduled early next year in the commercial capital.Attempts to contact former Union Minister Gurudas Kamat, who is an influential party leader in Mumbai, were in vain. In Delhi, Congress leaders Salman Khurshid and Raj Babbar said that it should be seriously looked into.“If something like this has come out in the Congress article, then AICC will take it up,” Khurshid said. Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad said that it was clear that the writer was not aware of history and had no knowledge of the conditions under which Nehru had become the first Prime Minister and the challenges he faced like eradicating poverty.Meanwhile, BJP leader and Union Minister Jitender Singh said such remarks about Nehru’s policy have been made earlier also and not just by BJP. “Many of Nehru’s close friends have written books mentioning that the course of events in Jammu and Kashmir would have been different had it been left to the then home minister (Patel),” he said.- See more at: http://indianexpress.com/article/india/politics/mumbai-congress-journal-blames-jawaharlal-nehru-for-state-of-affairs-in-kashmir/#sthash.ud9R3s6B.dpufBoth Congress and BJP are doing self goals these days Edited December 28, 2015 by Singh bling

gattaca Posted December 28, 2015 Posted December 28, 2015 So rich coming from Pakistani who doesn't understand democracy. Those who lived under military ruled and military ruled democracy come to us and let us know democracy.
jalebi_bhai Posted December 28, 2015 Posted December 28, 2015 of course Indian electorate is dependent on Muslims voting congress and fragmented Hindu votes. So some poet alleges something. A dog barks but the lion doesn't care. Why do pakistanese so obsessed with India though.Because without a divided India, there is no basis for Pakistan. The obsession is not just restricted to Pakistanese (they might as well permanently change their spelling to that ), anyone who suffers from a bout of Pakistaniyat has this similar fetish for delusions of Hindu India's impending doom, Hindu being the operative word. Plenty of people in India suffer from Pakistaniyat. It's a state of mind, not an identity. I'll stop now, because this ain't that kind of a thread . adi B 1
