Lol .... this is the easiest way I can explain: 

Step 1: Bad batsman ---> Replace with good batsman

Step 2: If there is no good batsman to replace bad batsman ----> batting will remain weak  

Step 3: Strengthen bowling ---> So the weak batting has to do less work (as only 2 or 3 batsmen who are doing bulk of scoring), therefore strengthening bowling indirectly strengthens batting 

 

no we need all the batsmen. Never know which one show up. Even though kohli showing up in chases is a certainty. All other batsmen have won matches on their own on their day so it's not like they are not talented. This will be the worst time to make any changes and will only make us worse.

That is an unscientific theory. Same thing was floated around before this game that some of the guys will show up at least due to law of averages

----> To show up one has to show some good form. Magically things will not change. As I said, a Ford does not turn in to a Aston Martin .... A batsman can be continued if he is showing signs of being in good touch and that he can get a 50. If showing up means hitting a 20 (2 tailenders can also give that), it does not mean much.

If its a hamstring its gone. Rarely has somebody pulled a hammy and not taken less than a week to recover. If its a sprain its another issue. Then it depends on the sprain.

Even MSD realises he may need to replace Yuvi. Its also too late for the likes of Mann or Pandey. Rahane, Parthiv and Bhajji is what he has got. With barely 3 days to goto the semi I think he should make the change of Pappu for Dhawan and Negi if Yuvi is injured.

Never know, Gurkeerat Mann can be drafted in as he can bowl too as a spinner. 

I would go for a no. 4 batsman than for someone who can bowl spin. Let's get Pandey in as a standby for Yuvraj. Pandey's stellar fielding would be an added bonus as we would have likes of Jadeja, Pandya, Kohli and Pandey on the field at the same time

Negi is good enough cover for Yuvi. Its the opening which is the biggest hole or worry for India. I thought Aussie bowlers were just about OK. Rohit and Shikar made them look world class.

He played an unbelievable innings in IPL final chasing a total of 200 or thereabouts and then had a great knock against Aussies. He seems to have that "clutch" gene and someone you can rely on in pressure games.

In case of injury you can always get a replacement, which in this case should be another batsman, preferably Pandey. I'm nervous that India will play Rahane at no. 5
