Malcolm Merlyn Posted July 14, 2016 Author Posted July 14, 2016 Point here is not fixing vs cheating, point is: different set of standards for different players with Same case, which actually is ur own point and I do somewhat agree... Its quite obvious that u will react totally differently, when its tempering from Sachin, u will go to any extent to defend him but u wont give a damn when lets assume Ishant or some of Kumar has Exactly the same case... There is nothing to defend.Sachin wasnt guilty of tampering. He was exonerated of those charges. I think you are not getting the point.

Malcolm Merlyn Posted July 14, 2016 Author Posted July 14, 2016 :) Rather than a smilie why not tell why he is guilty of tampering if ICC finds him not guilty.

Nova Posted July 14, 2016 Posted July 14, 2016 If you watch the footage in the video below, you can see it could be ball tampering. Who cleans a ball like that across the seam? I'm not really convinced that Sachin was just cleaning the ball, regardless of the ICC verdict. Great players can make mistakes. To err is human after all. Having said the above, how can one compare ball tampering with match fixing? The latter is a serious crime. Amir served the punishment and he's now back if anyone likes it or not. His age and talent did play a huge role for his comeback. Should Amir have been banned for life, probably yes, but nothing is black and white in this world. Concessions are made.

How is different standards, Sachin and Afridi both had tampering charges against them but no one in the world wanted them to be banned from the game permanently. Match fixing or spot fixing are different, I do not want Sreesanth to play for India ever, playing for a country should be an honor. That honor should not be sullied by match fixers. After serving the bans they can be back playing FC or these T20 leagues but they cannot play for a country anymore.
Asim Posted July 15, 2016 Posted July 15, 2016 ^ u guys really think comparison here was tempering with fixing? :) whatever the point was, been proved since I named Sachin... anyways Coming back to orig point, I repeat, Yes, I always have been in favor of Amir's comeback, I am glad he made it and I have provided my reasons which I still stand with, u have right to totally disagree but doesnt matter much if u tell me actually this is my support towards corruption or (all Pakistani's in general) acceptability with match-fixers and tell me how great indian public is and how u guys would protest if any such comeback happens in your country :) Good for you... [and btw I would never want Butt to make a comeback, now u can call it hypocrisy]
PBN Posted July 15, 2016 Posted July 15, 2016 (edited) Amir is a great talent and potentially has the ability to become one of the greats of the game depending on the longevity of his career but he'll always have the tainted tag of being a match fixer looming over his head. Vilander Posted July 15, 2016 Posted July 15, 2016 such mundane cynicism so typical..from Kashmir to Pak cricket. Lol revealing.

He would say when some one calls him a hypocrite ' i told you you would say that ha' with conviction and tone that he having predicted that before somehow absolves him of being the said hypocrite. In their primitive mind that is the way to adapt to the world they live in the denialistan. Edited July 17, 2016 by Vilander
express bowling Posted July 17, 2016 Posted July 17, 2016 Would Amir be brought back if he was not perceived as a top fast bowler/ cricketer ?
